No, you do not need a doctors referral if you are a private patient. Workers Compensation, veteran Affairs, Medicare EPC and Motor Vehicle Accident patients will require a doctors referral before being assessed and treated. Your first consultation may take up to 45 minutes (lymphoedema is 1 hour) and subsequent visits are approximately 30 minutes (lymphoedema45 minutes).
