Think of Sitar Albion as an Indian laughing Buddha- you'll come here for a hearty Indian meal and a dose of mysterious India and walk away only to return the next day for more. We seat up to 400 people with a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Traditional Indian decor and antiquities are complemented by original artworks throughout.
Far more than just another Indian Curry House, our restaurant prepares all dishes to order- we believe that top quality Indian food is worth the wait! Or if you'd prefer to dine at home, order takeaway by simply ordering online or phoning at your closest Sitar- you can collect it from store, or arrange delivery.

I have been eating at Sitar Indian Restaurant since my early teens when there was one on James St in New Farm. I was such a regular customer there that the lovely owner would give me extra unfortunately pappadums or naan bread for free! Unfortunately this one closed many years ago which is so sad.
The experience I’ve had at Sitar in Albion has usually been positive. However, ordering takeaway is difficult as the wait times can be unnecessarily long and items have often been missing from my order.
My dine in experiences have overall been really good. My go to dish is a Mild Chicken Tikka Masala

I used to really like this restaurant.
Unfortunately I recieved cold food and no starter, which was in the order and I was waiting for nearly 2 hours for the delivery. I called and was told I would be refunded and emailed but never recieved a response or refund.
Poor service and food.

This is one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to.
We ordered takeaway a year ago and I’ve never forgotten how good it was. So for our anniversary dinner we came from Wishart and it did not disappoint.
We ordered the deluxe banquet and really savoured every mouthful.
We had samosa, chicken tikka, lamb cutlets, rice, cheese and garlic naan, Tikka masala, Rogan josh and various chutneys and sauces and we absolutely loved all of it! Great service, very polite can’t recommend highly enough.

Always great food. Have to be careful when ordering over the phone when it's busy (most of the time 😁) to make sure they get the whole order right ;) we've missed a naan bread twice but never gone hungry. Absolutely love their curries, especially the paneer tikka marsala!

Hopeless customer service. They don’t want customers, so better to go other Indian restaurants.
Update: You put a wrong reply on my review. When we arrived to your restaurant, you did not ask anything except to check in on QR code which I did straightaway on my phone in front of you on OFFICIAL QLD GOVERNMENT APP successfully and the screen was clearly showing successful checkin at your restaurant. Instead of accepting this, you said this is not correct without any logical reason and said that there is an alternative way and asked us to show our vaccination certificate, which we also did. Then

NOT recommend it at all. If I only I could give it with a ZERO I totally would. Came with my wife to enjoy a nice evening with indian food..... totally disappointed. Literally, we threw our money into the bin.
When we arrived, nobody came to attend us, I had to ask for the girl in the counter.
Once seated, you can feel the place is dirty, all very dusty. The place was practically empty, still, waited for 10 minutes and nobody came to attend us. I stood up and looked for someone to bring us the menu.
Once ordered, the waiter brought out two glasses of wine. He grabbed the glasses touching the

If anyone wants to waste their money on worst indian food they can go to SITAR happily. 🙏 And if management or owner reply me please first improve your quality and make our money worth. If you dine in it’s a good experience. However take away is a bit of a disaster. Especially on Wednesdays when they have their promotion. Despite pre ordering at 5pm for a 7pm pick up, we waited an hour in the store until 8pm. They also forgot items. I would say the promotion is so popular they get too busy and can’t handle the quantity of orders. It’s a shame because although they may be trying to increase their profits with promotions, it’s affecting their performance.

Sitar is just fabulous in terms of authentic Indian food taste, hospitality and ambience. Smith Shah the gem 💎 of Sitar is the most friendly, professional and fun loving guy I met in Australia. Rich taste in all the veg or non veg items, will certainly recommend everyone to visit there and enjoy the meal. One bite of naan with curry will surely put a big smile on your face. PTM/CTM just tastes heavenly good.
