Not quite a year had passed since the great Earthquake of 1923 and mass culture had begun to exert an influence on the daily lives of Japanese society. The Modern girl began to appear on the city streets of Tokyo. With her short bob hair doo and her Western style of dress she quickly caught the public eye and became a symbol of a new interwar social phenomenon.
Our infamous Sake evenings are a night to remember with a 6 course meal each with sake matching and new off menu creations from our head chef Satoshi. A Sake master will guide you through the history and art of Sake brewing, sake education and appreciation. This particular class will focus on the art of Sake production and the variations between grades and various styles.

Modern Japanese with a good range of options. Melt in your mouth wagyu was talked up so much we ordered two servings, unfortunately it didn’t live up to the hype. The other dishes were yummy (although the halloumi on the duck is more a crumb than anything, definitely not what I was expecting). Asked the waiter to give me one minute to decide on a drink order: Never saw another waiter again.

We waited 20 minutes for our first drinks, it was majorly overpriced for the quality. Although the Gyoza was good we spent over $100 and overall didn’t have a very good experience.

Excellent and efficient staff. Beautiful Japanese themed restaurant. Our first time to Order the Sukiyaki Package for two people. The meat was succulent and tasty. The broth of the sukiyaki was authentic. One of the male staff was very helpful and his knowledge made our dining experience very pleasant. If you love good Japanese food and great service, this is not a place to miss.⭐⭐⭐

Been here several times. Food is always great. Beautiful presentation but more importantly, delicious.
Will have to try their sushi train one day. If the quality is as good as their a-la-carte menu then it won't disappoint.

Nice environment and food arrived quickly. I really love the Plum Rose, fresh and a bit sweet. We have ordered the Wagyu Melt, their best seller, which is very tasty. We also ordered the tempura veggie and Sukiyaki set for two. To be honest, the Sukiyaki set is too salty and the quality is average. In general, a nice place to go if you want to have a causal meal.

Moga has a fantastic modern Japanese fusion menu. In terms of sushi, I love the deep fried salmon roll, crispy shell crab roll and scallop roll. I have had the pleasure of visiting 4-5 times and each time I am very happy with the food. I would recommend ordering off the menu and not at the sushi train as I feel the quality and flavour is lacking there.

Besides the Waiter who "took" our order and actually never did anything resulting in unnecessary wait and a reorder from another waiter. It was a pleasant experience. It is a little on the pricey side with small portions but it was delicious.

Great Japanese place. Some interesting dishes beside the usual fare, such as Tempura zucchini flower, miso eggplant and a sake menu. Can't remember the name of the sake but served cold, like wine and was the best. Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.

I walk in to meet my friends, there are 2 girls at the front to greet m, I thought oh how nice, the outfit of the place is nice, awesome I thought to myself cos I'm so hungry!
But there wasn't a great selection of vegetarian and the selection they did have wasn't great. The avocado had almost no avocado.
And a dish went around several times that had a fly in it!

Heard good things.
First impression: Fantastic atmosphere.
Sushi Train however was average. Not bad mind u. But u can get better in a worst setting.
Price matched the setting not the sushi.
Beer selection was good.
Maybe I'll try al a carte next time, see what the chefs really have to offer.

Yeah I love this place. I've been here 3 times so far and twice this week. The menu is fantastic and everything I've tried Ghana been tasty, I really love the extensive beer range! (all be it a little pricey, you won't find many other places to try these beers). The waiters are super friendly and always helpful with recommendations. I particularly like the French waiter who's working there at the moment he remembered me and was funny and pretty cool.

It's a nice modern construction with modest Japanese flare. Having driven past many times had some expectations but just tried this with the Japanese wife and left feeling pretty disappointed.

We booked and the table for two we got was jammed at the end of the narrow alley between the garden and the cafe. Strangely that alley is open and people actually come in through there but it was also like a wind tunnel channeling the breeze. Our table was wobbly as were the wooden stools so we asked to be moved to the vacant table one position further in which also had padded chairs so that was better

Trendy Japanese restaurant in the heart of Rosalie, close to the city. If it helps I caught a 371 bus from the city to Rosalie with no issues, and was very quick in peak hour.

Beautifully designed restaurant that makes you feel like you really are in Japan, with Japanese garden in the alfresco area, and the great Japanese greeting upon entering. We didn't have a reservation on a Friday evening, however we did arrive at 6pm and we were happily accommodated, so I would recommend booking on Friday and Saturday evening if you are wanting to eat around 7ish as the place got full quickly soon

Outside or inside on a hot summers night, you may be a little more disappointed if you choose out. Looks fancy with random bottles of house brewed plum wine and sake sitting on top of the train I'm not sure whether it's a good look or not. What it does do is block the view when you try and see chefs making the sushi.

Honestly speaking, I would have given them 1 more star if it wasn't for a fly I saw trapped in a plate with a cover on. It couldn't really fly away anywhere.

The food is good but I'm not sure about the $13 deep fried ice cream. There is a reason why the

From destitute building on the corner of Baroona Road to expertly designed Japanese restaurant, I was intrigued when I heard a Japanese restaurant was opening in Rosalie Village. With al a carte dining and sushi train available, there's something for all. We opted to dine in the al a carte outdoor seating area, and word is you can order three to four plates per person for a "full meal". I opted for a 2 piece salmon nigiri (delicious. buttery, oh so buttery), agadashi tofu and the ban ban salad (poached chicken with sesame and pickled ginger). The agadashi tofu was slightly too salty

This place has a lot of promise. So far only the sushi train is open, but an izakaya menu is on its way. Only hampered by two things: 1, a little expensive and 2, too many children (yes I'm an old grump). But then, an abundance of kids is to be expected in Rosalie. I guess I should go at a more adult time.

Also, good news for vegetarians, the veggie options were quite nice (at least on the sushi train).

Potentially great atmosphere and sound sushi so far. Go check it out.
