Kahani indian restaurant, established in tugun in 2005 by chefs Harish Chander and Lynford D' Souza is a casual dining restaurant that offers mouthwatering authentic Indian cuisine at very affordable prices. Kahani has long since been wowing locals with it's fantastic cuisine using the freshest ingredients and the best spices.
The restaurant serves all the traditional favourites as well more exotic offerings. Lynford and Harish met in Sydney more than 25 years ago when they worked together as chefs at a couple of popular Indian restaurants. Later, they opened their own restaurants in Manly and Mona Vale respectively. Their love of creating great food translated into a friendship that has lasted through time and ultimately resulted in their opening of Kahani in Tugun.

Great curry. Amazing naan!
I ordered butter chicken, lamb curry and saag paneer. Overall, the curries were very fresh, tasty, great quality, meat was tender and delicious, house made paneer cheese was outstanding, naan breads were also one of the best I’ve had!
One note, I would have liked more kick from the curry spices with all curries were medium level of flavour (still very nice!), but curry lovers may find it a bit bland.
Delivery was quick and easy to our motel.
Would order again as they had a great range to choose from.

I love this Indian, been having once or twice a year for the past 5 years and i find them consistently tasty. Try the Dhawani chicken, highly recommend. We also tried the eggplant and potato dish. The cheese and garlic naan was very generous. We had 5 people, 3 adults and 2 kids and 2 naans was perfect.

We ordered take away and the food was extremely average. Prices were higher than an average indian restaurant.
Very dissapointing.
Edit----
We never mentioned about the Free Rice!? It was a more than a $50 dollar order, we couldn't care less about Free Rice, lol.
We, infact, happily paid for Saunf which you sell for $2.50 (which is ridiculous )
You have neither bothered to update your website, which still has prices different from Menulog, and different from what we pay when we order direct?
The masala of butter chicken was so baaaad, that I had to stop in the middle of eating and puke. Either

Service was nice but food is below average to cater only western people. Butter chicken gravy was like a dessert even after requesting hot and spicy food while ordering. Please don't tell us how indian food taste as we are from north India and understand it very well.
I am sorry but was highly disappointed with food, please take it as a constructive feedback

A great restaurant.
This place is a hidden gem, nothing special from the outside, but the staff a friendly and helpful.
I think locals use the take away service mostly, as they are very busy.
The food is full of authentic flavour and everything is fresh and tasty.
A great surprise to find in Kingscliff. Highly recommended to dine in or takeaway.
