Anxiety disorders are more common than you may think, one in seven people (14% of the population) report having had an anxiety disorder in the last 12 month. Women are more likely to report suffering from an anxiety disorder than men, 18% versus 11%. 4326.0 - National Survey of Mental Health and Wellbeing: Summary of Results, 2007.
Everyone feels sadness, disappointment, or a bit 'blue' occasionally. Depression, however, refers to a range of mood and other symptoms that are intense, overwhelming and persistent, causing high levels of distress to the individual. Depression interferes with people's day-to-day lives and relationships, and can negatively affect sleep, appetite, energy, motivation, libido and enjoyment of everyday activities.
At Lovett Psychology, I offer PTSD Counselling to adults who need support after a traumatic event, or series of events. With extensive experience in trauma, I can assess, diagnose, and treat a range of trauma-related conditions. My goal is to provide you with skills and strategies to help you reduce symptoms and cope better with your day to day life, as well as face the challenges that come your way in the future.
At Lovett Psychology, I aim to share practical skills for the management of chronic pain and emotional wellbeing. I seek to help reduce the impact that chronic pain, stress, anxiety, low mood and depression have on an individual's social, leisure and occupational activities, and their overall quality of life.
At Lovett Psychology, I offer Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services providing assistance through short-term, counselling and consulting for employees and members of their immediate families who face problems of a work or personal nature. The EAP service is confidential and professional assistance, it is voluntary and is paid for by the Employer*.
