Deb & Brian Vanallen had lived in WA since late 1987, and during this time had enjoyed numerous holidays throughout the beautiful south west. These getaways ranged from group holidays with friends, to luxury weekends escapes 'before children', adventure treks through several of the national parks, and 'farm stays' when their girls were young.
On returning from each of these many and varied trips, feeling refreshed and energised, they would slot back into the City mayhem often pondering the possibilities. Balingup Heights offered Deb and Brian the 'tree change' they were chasing. They fell in love with the uniqueness of the property, seeing many opportunities to enhance 'The Heights'.

ПHighly recommended. We were greeted by breathtaking views as we drove to the top of the hill. We love how the cottages are secluded in a beautiful forest setting offering privacy in a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The fireplace provided warmth in the cold weather.
Deb and Brian are great hosts. They are friendly helping us with re-booking and making sure we get 2 suitable cottages for our group of family and friends - Hepton Hill and Gum Nut. They provided a lot information and promoted Balingup and local businesses.
What a great Sept 2021 long weekend that was 😀

Me and my wife sayed in Hepton Hill cottage with our 2 small children (4 and 2). There was plenty or room and miraculously the kids loved sharing a room so we got the second bedroom to our selves. We booked Hepton as there was also an extra single bed in our room so if the kids sharing didn't work out we could put the little one in with us.
The Golden Valley tree park colours where spectacular this time of year. Highly recommend.
Loved sitting out looking out over the valley on an evening drinking some scrumpy cider we bought from a visit to the Bridgetown cidery.
The kids couldn't wait to get

*** A very pleasant stay break in an exceptionally beautiful spot! -- Highly recommended! ***
Magical, peaceful and relaxing stay. What a haven in this pandemic time.
Our first visit to this wonderful cottage. Delightful views, cosy timber cottage, stunning landscape...just wow!
Thank you Deb and Brian for making our stay so relaxing, everything has been prefect. We love everything, from morning animal feeding, just walking around the property particularly at the "secret garden" to just sitting and feeling the tranquility of nature at the scenic lookout. Simply amazing!
We will definitely return

We enjoyed a short, family getaway & couldn't recommend this home away from home more! Deb & Brian are outstanding hosts, with every last detail for a most enjoyable stay carefully thought of. We appreciated the cottages being secluded in the wilderness, each offering utmost privacy & a unique outlook with the most incredible views. Everything we could possibly need was available in our cottage, and so much more. The cleanliness of the cottage was exceptional & our breakfast hamper inclusion was an absolute feast filled with an incredible variety of goodies, enough to feed an army! We were most

It’s hard to pick one or two favourite things about Balingup Heights. Firstly Deb and Brian were incredible hosts and very helpful. The cottages were very clean and the beds were comfortable for a great night sleep. One requirement for booking a winter holiday was having a fire place. We loved putting the fire on and it definitely kept us warm when it was 0.8 degrees during the night. We stayed 4 nights and thought it might be too long but in the end it wasn't enough. The kids spent hours in the secret garden, we did a scavenger hunt looking for things around the property and the morning animal

Absolutely loved this place. Myself and my friend booked a cottage for a two night stay and I just wish we had longer. We were greeted by the Deb, Brian, Maddie the dog and the new lamb they were hand feeding. They couldn't have been nicer or more helpful.
The views are absolutely stunning, particularly at sunrise and sunset at the viewing area. The view from Misty cottage was incredibly serene and peaceful. We loved seeing the alpaca and the sheep happily roam. Just loved it and would come back in a heartbeat!
