Condescending and downright rude 'gentleman'. I wanted to replace the handlebars on my bike with some different ones (done similar conversions before, and have also worked at an auto mechanics workshop, so I'm confident with the project). I was told via email that there were some cheap / used parts in stock, however I was told that I should bring the bike in. Turns out that he didn't have the parts and only seemed interested in criticizing every last detail of my donor bike, including the existing handlebar setup (partly dismantled and ready to be replaced) even though I was intending to overhaul

Best bike shop in Melbourne, IMO. John is a very friendly, passionate and knowledgeable bloke who, importantly for me, knows how to service Gates Carbon Drives. Had a great chat to him while serviced my bike. The sales assistant (don't know her name) was also very friendly and helpful. I've been to plenty of bike shops in Melbourne and the service has always been a bit hit and miss, and certainly the quality of the servicing has been the same, but none of that here. I won't be going anywhere else when I need something for my bike.

I normally don't bother to post reviews, but the customer service at this store was so poor that I felt I needed to post a review. I took my bike in to get assembled and never received an estimated completion time, had to call up a few times to find out when I could collect the bike and received incredibly rude customer from an older man at the shop. There is a younger female customer sales assistant who was friendly and quite helpful, but the older man was rude and unfortunately ruined my impression of this store. It doesn't matter how good the quality of the work is, if the customer service is

Absolutely amazing customer service! I went in as someone had tried to steal the back brake pads off my mountain bike, not quite succeeded and left it hanging off by the cable with out the screws whilst I was on holidays. John and Cristina were incredibly helpful and looked everywhere to make sure they had the right screw type so my bike wouldn’t have any trouble going forwards, whilst they were at it fixed anything loose that was on my bike and entertained me with some great conversation. After all that they didn’t charge me a cent! Beautiful people I couldn’t recommend higher and I will

I went to Pista Bikes to have my bike put back together after it was shipped over from Adelaide. John and his team did a great job in a timely fashion. They kept me up-to-date with the progress and the young eastern European guy I collected from could not have been more helpful. I will use them from now on...

I have been taking my bikes for service and maintenance and purchasing several sets of wheels from Pista for several years now. Never had any issues with service and always have a great experience with the comfort of knowing the price I will be charged is always a good deal. John (the owner) has a real passion for cycling and gives friendly and knowledgeable advice no matter the issue. He is also a genuine good bloke.

After spending about a month trapsing between bike shops, being given ridiculously expensive options that were unviable money grabs, making calls, sending emails and being told by custom bike makers they weren't interested,
as a heavy rider it was almost impossible for me to find a bike, let alone someone who was willing to take an extra moment to talk to me to get a custom setup done.
I finally discovered Pista Bikes, and was surprised that not only did their mechanic, Paul, actually acknowledge me, but spent the next half an hour just discussing viable options for me to get myself riding

I first went to Pista for a couple of small repairs out of pure convenience, they were close to work. But since going there I've found all the staff to be really friendly and knowledgable, their work is always great quality and their prices are really reasonable. Turnaround is always quick too. Even more to their credit, they always explain the work they do, and help you learn to take care of your own bike. I've since ditched my other bike shop and go to Pista for whatever I need.
