Services
Why hire a traditional bike when you can rent a fun electric bike, from Melbourne Electric Bicycles. We're located only a short distance from the Melbourne CBD and three minutes from the beach. Nearby are the iconic Beach Road, Botanical Gardens, Acland Street, MCG, Yarra River and much more. Note: Melbourne Electric Bicycles retains the right to refuse electric bicycle rental to anyone it believes is at serious risk of not having fun.
Modern electric bicycles are powered by a lithium long-life battery that runs an electric motor attached to either the wheel (hub motor) or the cranks (center drive/crank motor.) You engage the motor by simply pedalling, you can adjust how much push the motor will give you (usually 4 levels of power/push), if you stop pedalling the bike will slow done like a normal non electric bike.
If you live in or around Melbourne your next quality electric bike isn't far away, but we regularly hear from and have supplied e-bikes to people who live far away who struggle to find a good supplier. The good news is that it now doesn't matter where you live in Australia - from Brisbane to Perth, from Hobart to Darwin or the back of beyond, you can count on Melbourne Electric Bicycles for fun, fitness and freedom.
With a multitude of bike paths and beautiful rides to choose from, the choice is yours. With the power of the electric bike at your fingertips, even a peak such as Mt Lofty isn't too difficult! Melbourne Electric Bicycles now supplies its range of quality electric bicycles and accessories to Adelaide customers.
If Brisbane is a great place to ride a bike, then it's an even better location to ride an electric bike! With bike paths circulating through many parts of the city and rides such as the Boondal Wetlands, a bayside ride along Wynnum and Manly, the Morten Bay Cycleway and beautiful off-road trails such as those around Daisy Hill Conservation Park nearby, it's no wonder Brisbane is considered one of the best places to ride a bike.

We did a lot of research on the type of e-bike I needed and visited a number of businesses before settling on Melbourne Electric Bicycles. Baron, was extremely helpful, listened to what I believed I needed in an e-bike and offered some very helpful advice and suggestions.
I selected a Velo de Ville 490, and, after a good briefing from Baron on the… bike’s operation, I took a test ride.
This confirmed I had made the right choice, and the price was competitive, delivery arrangements were made and Baron made a special effort to make sure the bike was delivered prior to Christmas notwithstanding

After trying several bike stores, Melbourne Electric Bicycles was recommended to me. After speaking to Nathan, with his very honest, and informative knowledge, I decided on a medium Kalkhoff Entice. It is perfect. What was great was that he did not try to sell me a bike that he had in stock, rather than what I knew was suitable to the trails and areas where I ride - which had occurred in the previous stores I visited. So thankful I contacted Melbourne Electric Bicycles

I've been looking for an electric bike and went in to look around a couple ot times over the last two weeks. They were a bit gruff, but I persisted. They didn't seem to be positive and a bit negative about my questions. I was ready to come in and purchase a bike, and phoned to ask a straightforward question and started to cop some abuse from the sales person. I politely said thanks and afterwards decided to go with my gut feeling and avoid the place. Just too much negativity and not much help. So I went somewhere else local (I'm not mentioning it) and got completely different service and bought

Very happy with the service that Nathan and Barron provide me with. They are professional, courteous and pleasant to deal with whilst knowing the products well and offering a good range of bikes at reasonable prices. We bought a Kalkoff Voyager from them and am considering buying a e-mountain bike also. Good guys.

Great products and excellent customer service from Nathan. He was so helpful in explaining all aspects of my new bike and even gave me riding tips to help me get back into riding after so many years. I`m so happy with my bike. It has put the fun back into riding, without the effort of climbing hills that I once conquered so easily on a regular bike as a young fellow.
