Your first appointment is an opportunity for you to discuss your concerns or difficulties, which you may have had for a while. You will be sitting in a comfortable chair in a relaxed and private room. It is common for clients to feel emotional when they are talking about very personal and challenging topics in therapy.
Individual clients with a Mental Health Care Plan will receive a rebate of $129.55 for up to 20 sessions per calendar year, reducing the cost of sessions to $86.45 out of pocket. Private Health insurance rebates vary between insurers. If you are referred to a psychologist by your GP you can claim a rebate from Medicare for up to 20 individual sessions and 20 group sessions in a calendar year.

My experience with Freya was at best ineffective and at worst very traumatic. Not only was I not making progress with my mental illness under her care, she committed fee misconduct during our last session. She witheld information regarding my mental health care plan and lied to my face about it when I confronted her so she could charge me much more for my session without my consent.
Her actions caused me a severe panic attack and she showed very little remorse regarding the impact of her actions.
