Our mechanics love their job! They are passionate about cycling and bicycles, and will ensure that your machine is maintained in a pristine condition. We have a full workshop open five days a week, Monday through Friday. We are geared up to perform all your maintenance and repair needs. With all the specialist tools and parts required, our highly skilled and professional staff will solve all your mechanical issues.
Here at Gran Prix we are very passionate about custom-built wheels and wheel sets. Whether it be for touring, road, mountain or BMX, there is nothing that will transform a bike like a nice, new set of wheels. Hand-built wheels do not use proprietry spokes so even if you are away from home, sourcing replacement parts is very easy.
Every now and then something goes wrong with your bike. Our basic maintenance course will help you assess, and equip you to deal with most issues when they arise, or avoid them altogether! Our course covers puncture repair through to basic brake and gear adjustment, as well as helpful tips. We keep our classes small, so that we can offer a more personal, focussed experience.

I've been going to Gran Prix Bikes for over 10 years now and I'm always happy with their honesty, knowledge and service. I have a number of Mountain bikes and road bikes which they've serviced, fixed at very competitive prices over the years. I have just pick up my 29" MTB from them (due to a bottom bracket issue) They'd popped a spacer into place where the excess movement/play was - charged nothing for it... who does that these days? It's this kind of service that returns loyalty back to retailers which is important for private business to stay open, especially in these difficult times, Thanks

I walked in the other day looking to repair/upgrade a chain tensioner on my bike. The only person on staff in the store, "Dean" was incredibly rude. When stating I saw an item on the website for a certain price, he rudely snapped back to me that "he can charge whatever he likes" for it and tries to add another $20+. Even after this, he refused to be much help at all, didn't offer to even look at my bike or offer any advice at all. Its almost like he didn't want customers. Avoid this place like the plague!

I walked into this bike shop yesterday and I told him the kind of bike I wanted. He recommended a couple of options and he patiently answered all my questions. Including the technical ones.
He then looked after me on the price of the bike and the accessories like the light and computer.
I like supporting small businesses especially those that have a genuine interest and time for their customers.

Moved here in March and my family wanted to start cycling. Even though we were new and didn't speak good English, people in Gran Prix Bicycles are very friendly and helped us a lot and we could get good bikes with reasonable price. Recently they provided a maintenance service for the bikes and my family still enjoy riding in this lovely weather in Melbourne. I am really happy to find out this shop and with their professional service.

These guys transformed my single speed bike to better than new performance, by fitting a very high quality hub and truing the wheels to perfection. I was expecting a huge bill for the quality of work and parts, but it was the least I have paid for a bike service. I will always use them from now on for bike servicing.

I love what the team at gran Prix offer. I get a quick turnaround on bike servicing with honest, helpful feedback and advice on how to look after my bike...even when it's as well looked after as mine is. Their product line suits all riders and they are friendly and down to earth. I'll always keep going back.
