There’s lots of good food choices although I have eaten some things there that you could tell were a couple days old.
The staff that are women are lovely but there’s one guy there that isn’t great. I’ve watched him smoking outside and throwing his cigarettes on the floor, wiping coffee cup lids on his dirty shirt before placing them on a cup, never wearing his mask properly, sometimes yelling or talking rudely to the other staff members and inappropriately touching their lower backs and you can tell that it makes them uncomfortable. Besides him, the cafe is nice.

I stumbled across this amazing place whilst wandering through Hawthorn on a weekend in Melbourne.
The place has great character and lots of amazing treats and groceries.
Georgia the owner is super nice, friendly and engaging and Aldo the barista is a hoot of a guy, really engaging and entertaining.
And the coffee is good.
I’ve been back twice and will be back again a few more times before heading back home to Sydney.

I kid you not, I’ve had to tell my good friend who lives close to this gem, to stop asking me to go for breakfast and lunch as Blood Orange Foodstore has become our staple meeting place. The coffee, food and service are everything you want for a local foodstore. With all the choices you could want in relation to coffee, mouth watering food that keeps you at the counters for an awkwardly long time as you try to decide what you’ll enjoy on each visit and a homely service staff that make you feel like a welcome visitor rather than just a customer, I highly recommend. We loved this great little Cafe and shop just down the road from the auburn shops. Atmosphere is light and pleasant and they even have a couple of their own car spaces, although I wouldn't expect to get one if coming during peak times. We had the crumbed chicken panini, a salad and fritter and the pistachio brownie. All delicious and pretty good value too. Will definitely come again

Excellent food and great ambience. Blood Orange is a cool combination of a boutique store and brunch cafe. The menu offerea most brunch classics as well as good smoothies.
Our food was excellent if fairly high priced but the coffee was average.
As a side note though this isn't an issue. Cafe customers must order at the counter but your food/coffee is brought out to you.

Struggling to give this more than two stars, let me explain.
First things first, lovely venue. Me and my partner both chose the potato rosti, which you can see from the photo is aesthetically pleasing - however that’s where it stops unfortunately! 🙁
The hollandaise sauce was a vinegary mess, and when we challenged the waitress regarding the extremely bland potato, there was an awkward moment and nothing actually eventuated from it.
Pretty disappointing experience for a fundamental mistake.

Wish I could give Blood Orange 5 stars, as the store, food and coffee beans definitely deserve it. But unfortunately, the barista is rude, obnoxious and is the sole reason I will not return for coffee. Yelling at staff and whistling at customers, I think not. So self righteous and honestly ruins the vibe of the place. Such a shame because they have delicious food like the chicken roti, and pumpkin filo pie. They also have so many goodies to buy like GOLD mustard and pepper, homemade chutneys and sauces, as well as premade dishes made with love. Honestly such a shame.

Though a bit on the pricier side this grocery store (fruit, vegetables, baking goods, pasta, jam and more) + takeaway homemade meals + good food and drinks has plenty of indoor AND outdoor seating available and you can even bring your fur friend there for a date.

I went to the café part of the green grocer. I loved the natural light in the open space and the service was so friendly. So homely with contemporary furnishings.
It has only been opened for a month but surprisingly enough we were able to get a table of 5 on Sunday arvo. I thought it'd be packed (probably soon to be).
I ordered the avocado and fetta toast with toast, simple and delicious! My family also loved their dishes, including: bacon and avocado focaccia with a delicious homemade chutney, potato hash and other great foods!
