A class with Heath is like a science fiction movie. He seems to know what is going on in your body better than you and then talks to your brain in a way that leaves you out of the loop doing things you didn't know you could. Whether he is helping injured folk rebuild strength and confidence or dialling up the challenge to a crew of hardcore reformer freaks his wealth and depth of knowledge mean he can hit the sweet spot for everyone.
Designed by the creator of pilates himself, Joseph Pilates, the reformer was originally built as a tool to help rehabilitate injured athletes. All classes have a maximum of 12 so you will always receive the attention and support you need. Simply choose a class depending on your health and fitness goals and current energy levels, and feel free to give us a call anytime if you want more information.
While it seems like the fitness industry only started talking about Pilates as a form of exercise a few years ago, the workout has actually been around much longer than we think. Joseph Pilates developed the exercise in the 1920s as a way for bedridden hospital patients injured during WWI to keep up their strength.

Recognised as the most widely adopted yoga method in the world, Iyengar is renowned for its focus on precision, alignment, sequencing, timing and the use of props.

I started going to reformer pilates classes at White Dog Studio in November and I can't speak highly enough of the team. I felt welcomed from the first time I set foot in the studio and I love how I can talk to the team about the different classes, my goals and how I am progressing (because they really care!). I have just started virtual yoga with them in the mornings too and I love the variety (particularly handy with going back into the office when I can't make it to the studio). Can't recommend them enough :)

Absolutely love this place. I’ve had long term lower back issues that invariably flare up with the physical nature of my job.
After my first session with Tegan my back felt bulletproof and I felt a full inch taller! Since then my back and core has never felt stronger and I’ve had zero pain.

White Dog is amazing! I've tried many a gym in the Yarraville area but this is by far the most welcoming and community minded studio full of good natured folks. The instructors are some of the most competent and knowledgeable I've met, are super friendly, encouraging, and always do their best to help you achieve your goals. The classes are fun and challenging, and it's also the only time I have ever enjoyed yoga in my life. Top notch place, 10/10, can recommend! If you're looking for a place to move your bag of bones around in definitely give this place a visit.

Simply the best Pilates and Yoga studio in Melbourne. Why? You have the best teachers who really understand the body and are experts. Combine that with the new studio which is light, open and easy to get to (and no parking hassles!!) and a great community vibe and you will feel at home. There is something to suit everyone and Heath, Jo and all the instructors are amazing. They always find that sweet spot between pushing you and making you feel like you can take on the world.
