Established in 2007, Lord Cardigan Restaurant is the brainchild of husband and wife team, John Singer and Dominique Bolger. Lord Cardigan's conception was an obvious choice for the couple, John's passion and commitment to creating thoughtful and beautifully presented dishes, using only the freshest ingredients of the season, combined with Dominique's warmth and affable style front-of house, creates a mood of quiet indulgence.
We look forward to sharing the Lord Cardigan experience with you. John started his apprenticeship on the Mornington Peninsula at Julius Caesar's Italian restaurant in 1985 and completed his apprenticeship at The Victorian Arts Centre which was, at the time, controlled by Spotless Catering.

Services
A smart long -running neighbourhood bistro remains fresh. Start by choosing one of the small dishes - or two, or three - it's a bit of a Choose Your Own Adventure situation at this point. Check out the degustation menu on the first Sunday of the month. Although he has classic French-based training, Chef Singer's menu steers towards the contemporary.
The delicious, fresh & bursting with Springtime happiness 2020 Ghost Rock Pinot Gris & seductive 2018 Supernatural Pinot Noir - we are huge fans of these wines and all that they do at Ghost Rock. This pair are a great collaboration from Woods Wines. We like this twin as it resembles our relationships with Woods Wine - team! Together each season, we carefully select a range of wines to compliment chefs' menu.

Very impressed at this restaurant. The food was all very tasty, with a good balance of flavours and interesting use of flavours and ingredients. You could tell the chef knew what they were doing and was not afraid to add their own spin on classic dishes. Service and atmosphere was faultless as well. Photo is of the fish of the day : snapper.

The friendliest service with melt in your mouth comfort food in a cosy and sophisticated interior. If you’re feeling fancy it’s hard to go past the oysters but the chips are so good that I couldn’t wait for them to cool down. A satisfying osso bucco and soufflé dessert washed down with Tasmanian Pinot made our evening one to remember.

This restaurant came highly recommended from friends who are very widely travelled. Now I know why. I enjoyed dinner there last night - we were a table of 6 - it was a new experience for all of us.
I always get nervous about taking responsibility for a restaurant booking on behalf of friends, especially when we don’t get the chance to catch up often. But please trust this review and the overall ratings provided by other reviewers- Lord Cardigan is a wonderful choice.
The meals were exquisite. I don’t often make it to dessert when out for dinner but on this occasion I made sure that I did

My extended family and I can't thank Dominique and her staff enough for such a wonderfully planned, prepared and executed menu for my dad's 70/71st birthday. Everything was no fuss, perfectly arranged with a fantastic wine and food selection across a set menu which catered for everyone's weird and wonderful peculiarities! The food was amazing. The service spectacular, and THAT cake made by the chef.... oh my Lord Cardigan.... I may not have eaten it myself, but what a centrepiece (and everyone was blown away!!). Thanks so much. We'll certainly be back!!!
