Classic, no frills Cantonese joint behind Box Hill Central. have been coming here for years. can't say it's the greatest or top few in terms of taste, but it does the job if you're in the area or wanting to have dinner. it's good for what you are paying. roast meats usually up to standard and the salt & pepper flounder we had that night was spectacular.

Good food when they put in the take away bag the food you ordered. They don't seem to know the difference between crispy skin roast pork and pork ribs. Fundamental error. Also attitude of counter staff is very poor.

I like that you can order half duck and half pork belly, and you don’t have to commit to one. It had a reasonable price point at $30 each. The compliantly soup to start with is a nice touch. Service was fairly non-existent but not really what you come to a place like this for. They must have a reasonably good reputation as their takeout trade was pumping.

Fantastic meal ! We stumbled across Roast Duck Inn and decided to give it a go and we were very happy! Food was delicious, service was fast and all I kept thinking about was what I would order next time ! We had the duck which was cooked perfectly, the sweet & sour pork and fried rice! We will be back and next time I will def order the barramundi and crab, both looked amazing!

Just the roast duck is tasty here. The rest are pretty ordinary and overpriced for what you get. Crispy noodles was soggy and seafood on it ordinary and the barramundi fish was small and cut up. Salted egg chicken wings was not well marinated. I would only recommend coming here for the roast duck.
Service was pretty good. There is a 1% surcharge for use of credit cards here so keep note.

Cannot fault the taste at this busy diner, we ordered Peking duck for entree which was well prepared and the sauce just right. Roast meats are also well seasoned and what really surprised was the pork & preserved vegetable rice dish, the pork was melt in the mouth delicious. Very authentic flavours, just delicious.
It can be busy at peak times, we only go in if we're in the area early. Come for the food, service can be patchy.

The roast duck here is mad good!

The duck meat was tender and juicy with just the nice amount of duck fat and crispiest duck skin ever. I could eat this all day, every day. They are very reasonably priced too, $12 for rice plate or alternatively you can have the whole duck for $ 38 - the portions were generous!

Nothing much going on in term of ambiance, design was very standard to other Chinese place in the area.
Also, don't expect tender loving care here, you will be disappointed. Overall, great Cantonese food, budget friendly, quick and reliable!

Tip: Cash only.

We were taken here by locals (and serious regulars) and we loved it. We had to wait for a table, but when we were seated we were promptly given a glass of green tea, and a bowl of the day's broth. That kind of service makes me so happy, especially after a wait (only because the place is so popular).

We ordered roast meat with rice (duck and pork for us), which we were advised was the best value meal, then shared a few veggie dishes between the table. The mushroom, broccoli and bean-curd dish of veggies is a perfect side-dish to share, and the bean with XO sauce salad is AMAZING. Oh, and the

I was invited along here for dinner by some friends. Given the decor and the name I was expecting standard, inoffensive Cantonese fair (little Bourke St level?).

Erh, wrong. The food was super tasty and there was heaps of variety on the menu. The stir-fried crocodile with chives was off the chain. The service was typical of a Chinese restaurant but they were really friendly. Gotta love surprises.

A casual Hong Kong Style Cantonese restaurant in Box Hill.

Cash only and no reservations as far as I could tell. Well worth the wait though.

Authentic, awesome tasting food with friendly wait staff. We were a party of 10, so we got to try over a dozen dishes. The interior is nothing fancy, but the food is as good as anything I have had in Hong Kong.

Our favorite dishes were:

Roast Duck - excellent, crispy skin, juicy meet, great flavor

Soya sauce chicken - perfect, authentic, just how it is meant to be done

BBQ Roast Pork - Excellent, very tender, just the right amount of fat, that was also
