Our practice's mission is simple: to be a person and community focussed team that truly cares, communicates and collaborates. We care - like, really care, and seek making an impact and bringing positive experiences to our clients and colleagues to show our care. We are communicators - we do enjoy making others communicate, too!
But above all, we are courteous, positive, joyful, clear and upfront with our expectations and intents. We totally understand teamwork and collaboration - we understand that it takes a village to support our clients and ourselves. While we do not have other disciplines within our practice, we constantly reach out to others to work together for better outcomes for our clients.

At Speech Ease, all our dedicated Speech Pathologists are registered with Speech Pathology Australia. We have a variety of backgrounds and special interest areas and each team member is allocated to their patients according to their specific needs and family requirements. Cheryl Ye is an experienced Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist with a strong belief in using a child and family centred approach to help children communicate effectively.
Children with speech difficulties may not be able to say their sounds clearly. For instance, saying "wabbit" instead of "rabbit". Some children in this category may have fluency difficulties more commonly known as a stutter or stammer. For instance, they repeat words or sounds in a sentence more than they should.
One of the biggest foundations of literacy skills is in being good at skills such as identifying rhyme, sounds in words, blending sounds to form words. If your child has trouble with these skills, he or she is very likely to have trouble with auditory processing. It is important to seek help immediately from a specialist tutor or speech pathologist who has experience in working with children with literacy difficulties.
We use language for different reasons, changing our language for the listener or situation, and we follow rules for conversations and storytelling. For example, not interrupting when someone else is telling a story, and looking at the person who is talking to you. If your child struggles with understanding social rules when talking or playing, they may feel isolated or have no friends.
In speech pathology, listening can be referred to as; receptive language. This is how attentive we are to our communicative partner when they speak. Children with receptive language difficulties can sometimes have difficulties with following instructions, remembering information, or paying attention.
