Myotherapy comes from the latin word "myo" meaning muscle. However over the years it has expanded to include not only muscle but joint, tendons, nerves and bone dysfunctions. Myotherapy involves assessing, diagnosing, treating and managing musculoskeletal conditions. These conditions can often cause pain and/or dysfunction which may affect normal movement and mobility.
Remedial massage treats muscle, tendon and joint dysfunctions using a variety of techniques. It is about assessing a patient's condition, devising a treatment plan, applying it and attempting to improve it to a point where it can be managed. Cupping is generally thought to have originated from China however it has actually been traced to the Egyptians dating as far back as 1500bc.

Services
I have a Diploma in Remedial Massage and Myotherapy and love what I do. I know a lot of people can't say that about their jobs so I consider myself very fortunate. I treat people from all walks of life, diverse backgrounds, young to old, athletes, tradies, office workers, hospitality workers and so on.

Some of the techniques employed by a remedial masseur include deep tissue, trigger point, MFR (MyoFascial Release), MET (Muscle Energy Technique), ART (Active Release Technique) and PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation).Massage strokes employed during a treatment vary from light to strong, superficial to deep depending on the condition/s that a patient presents with.

Cupping is generally thought to have originated from China however it has actually been traced to the Egyptians dating as far back as 1500bc. The traditional Chinese style of cupping uses glass jars and a naked flame to produce a vacuum effect before placing the cup onto the client's skin. At Easey Therapies we use plastic cups and a vacuum pump instead of a naked flame for static or stationary cupping.
Dry needling is called "dry" as the needle it uses is solid and hence is not used to inject a fluid. Through various trials and subsequent applications it has shown to be an effective method to release tight and contracted points in muscles. Dry Needling is particularly appropriate where a client has a trigger point that is too painful to exert any reasonable sort of pressure.

I would highly recommend James from Easey Therapies to fix any aches and pains you have.
I have been seeing James for many years to treat the latest injury I have done,, and he not only treats the injury with results you can feel, but works to prevent any further injury from re-occurring again!
I then go and do something to cause a totally different injury from exercise or day to day activities- so back to James I go.
I have had great success with James treating my injuries, and you will too!

Just as a preface; this was my first massage experience (which seems ridiculous at 31yo but anyway) and I felt super relaxed and comfortable the entire time. James was highly professional and as far as I could tell with my limited experience he really knew his stuff. I can't wait for the next massage! Do yourself a favour and go have one too, it's highly recommended!
