Ashburton Physiotherapy Centre
Ashburton Physiotherapy is staffed by experienced physiotherapists who offer excellent care for acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. With a combination of traditional manual therapies and clinical exercise programs, our staff aim to quickly diagnose and manage all injuries. The diverse nature of our local community means we have have vast experience with people of all ages, from preschoolers to our senior citizens.
Services
Our Clinical Exercise Programs combine current Physiotherapy research on injury recovery and prevention with our knowledge of your individual problems and goals. We can tailor your exercise program to strengthen your core whilst also helping improve your flexibility and balance to help your body function optimally.
Physiotherapists are trained to assess and diagnose the underlying causes of spinal, peripheral joint, muscle and nerve injuries and provide effective treatment. When you visit one of our Physiotherapists you will be given a thorough assessment. They will explain the cause of the problem and give you a diagnosis.
We have 3 studios, each is equiped with reformers, trapeze tables, barrels and arcs, plus a range of smaller equipment such as foam rollers, swiss balls, weights and resistance bands. It's very likely that you can claim a rebate from your private health fund, depending on your type and level of insurance cover.
If you have sought treatment for back or neck pain, your physio has probably discussed the implications of prolonged sitting at a desk. As well as the stress on the structures of your spine that we as physios refer to, read the article below that refers to other health risks of too much sitting. Why sitting less could be good for your health It seems that.
Bad sleeping postures can be a pain in the neck - literally - and you don't need to wake up on the wrong side of your bed to suffer from this common problem. We sleep to rejuvenate our weary bodies after a long day, but waking up with neck pain is the last thing anyone expects after a good night's rest.

A first class practice. Excellent service, helpful, friendly, effective treatment. Would recommend any of the several physiotherapists I have seen after injury and for Pilates classes. Also commend the reception staff who are friendly welcoming and helpful.

I have been going to Ashburton Physiotherapy and Pilates for over 5 years. After a bad experience with a Chiropractor I went and saw Darren. He was exceptionally good at what he does and extremely professional.
I recently twisted my ankle, very badly and Darren helped me treat the injury. He gave me great advice that helped speed up my recovery and I am now back at the gym 5 days a week after only 4 weeks of injury.
If you have any doubts about which physiotherapist to choose in the Ashburton area I highly recommend Darren and his team. It is nice to have some good old fashioned quality service

I have been coming here once weekly for about 2 years now. It's fantastic! The instructors are friendly and very professional. I have seen a marked improvement in my strength and posture. The receptionists are always receptive and they are flexible and accommodating as well. I highly recommend this place. Gayle
