Jetty Road Retreat is owned and operated by the Kleinitz family of Nungurner, a third generation farming family with strong connections to this area. Owner Ray Kleinitz first moved to Nungurner in the late 1940s from nearby Bruthen, where his parents had run the local pub.
For a number of years the Kleinitz family lived in the little shed located on Nungurner foreshore, before moving into a residence on the land where Jetty Road Retreat is located, and later, onto their farm on Nungurner Road.A sign on the heritage boat shed tells you more about Ray's time as a youngster living there with his mum, dad, brother and sister.

The thoughtful gestures that greeted us on arrival meant our holiday was off to a great start the moment we stepped in the cabin door. The fire pit was stacked ready to go, with complimentary marshmallows which were appreciated by the kids. Fresh flowers on the kitchen windowsill were a nice touch too.
Country House Retreat combines the fun of a farm stay with modern and luxurious accommodation conveniently located just a short drive from Lakes Entrance and Metung. The spacious four-bedroom farmhouse sleeps up to 10 people comfortably so is perfect for large families, groups of friends or anyone just wanting more space than standard hotels and accommodation.

We feel so lucky to have come across Jetty Road Retreat when looking for our family school holiday getaway. With 3 teenage children we needed something for everyone and we found it here. Bird life , fire pit, fishing and kayaking kept us outdoors and loving the peace and tranquility of the area. Cabin 5 was cosy, clean, had everything we needed AND had the most amazing water views! Kim is a really friendly and helpful host who has thought of all the little details. It’s a very special place and we can’t wait to return one day!

Jetty road retreat is in a beautiful location with stunning views from the cabin (we stayed in 5). It was comfortable with everything we needed for a weekend away. The bedding was warm and cosy. We got the dinner on arrival package and breakfast hamper, which made it so easy to arrive and settle in to a delicious meal. We’ll definitely be back!

Great hosts - Kim provided lots of information about the area. The house was comfortable and in a great location. Watching the birds play around the decked area was a highlight. We ventured out to Lakes and Metung and enjoyed supping, cycling (see Sarah at Adventure Out), walking 90 mile beach, cruising with Peels (saw a pod of dolphins!) and sampling delicious food and wine. The sunrise walk along the Metung boardwalk was spectacular too. Not forgetting the kayaking just on your own doorstep. Something for everyone. Thanks Kim and co. :)

We stayed for two nights at this gorgeous place. Location was perfect, located on the lake, with many outdoors activities available: walking, swimming, kayaking (kayaks and paddles provided by the hosts) and just relaxing. The cabin was perfectly equipped for all of our needs.
Kim, a true super host, was very accommodating. We will definitely be back soon. Loved the place.

Jetty Road Retreat was the perfect place to reconnect with extended family not seen during 2020 and to have quality time with our immediate family and grandchildren.
The cabins all have stunning views, are extremely comfortable, clean and equipped with all the furniture and utensils we needed to cook for ourselves.
Clean functional laundry, games in each cabin and videos to borrow are added bonus for all guests.
The little beach at the bottom of the path is beautiful and secluded for all swimmers and particularly safe for little people - with the added attraction of kayaks to use by guests.

We had such a fantastic time here. The cabins are spotless and were equipped with everything we needed. The bird seed and bird feeding was fantastic and the views are stunning. Our kids loved exploring the little cove and we even managed to catch a few little fish. Having kayaks to use was really special too. Highly recommend! We'll definitely be back one day soon.

Loved our stay. It did rain all the duration but the view and constant birdlife attention made the stay unforgettable. Great kitchen facilities we cooked our own meals the whole time. Lovely decor. Tv and remote were a bit temperamental and could use update is probably my one criticism. Was still useable once you got used to it.

Jetty road is a fantastic secluded gem near metung. the views over the lake with the flora and fauna are fantastic. the cabins are private and perfect for relaxation and to recharge the batteries. … accomodation is perfect and fully stocked as they are self contained. fishing is from a private jetty close by. the cabins are extremely comfortable and pristine. I have stayed many times, the owners are fabulous and always happy to assist. I highly recommend the perfect gem

What an absolute hidden gem. I was looking for a quiet place where our family could unwind and reconnect for the school holidays, and was delighted when Jetty Road Retreat popped up in my feed. What a peaceful, serene and wonderful place to stay. The owners were so kind and helpful from the first call, even putting on the heater to warm the… house before our late arrival from Melbourne. The directions and arrival instructions were clear and so helpful, and we loved waking up to a personalized list of everything that was on while we there, suitable for our family. The scenery is spectacular

We have just spent 3 nights at this beautiful place, wonderful hospitality from the owners especially Kim who we dealt with the most! Fresh eggs in the fridge from their farm when we arrived Our boys had a ball fishing, swimming and going in the Kayaks Awesome view of the water from our balcony We absolutely loved it...thank you Aaron and Bec from Wagga Wagga
