Dr. Michael Elek grew up in Melbourne and graduated from Melbourne University in 1994 as a Bachelor of Veterinary Science. Dr. Michael has the experience in both large and small animal practice. He has extensive veterinary experience in medical, home visit emergency and surgical procedures. He began his career in a rural practice in country Victoria - Alexandra, before moving to the UK.

Vaccinating your animal is important in preventing many fatal diseases. There are a number of vaccines available, which vaccination protocol is given depends on the lifestyle of your pet. We encourage you to contact us so that a veterinarian may discuss a suitable vaccination regime for your pet.
Kennel Cough which has 2 components including Bordetella and Parainfluenza - the vaccine aims to reduce clinical disease but does not provide absolute protection.To ensure your pet is clear of intestinal worms such as round worms, hook worm, whip worms and tape worms - we recommends a good quality all wormer be administered every 3 months orally to adult dogs and cats, puppies and kittens are give worming medication more frequently.

Michael is the most sweetest and gentle vet. He took his time with our girl til she felt comfortable to approach him. By the time he had to leave she was all over him giving him smooches.
House Calls for Pets is an awesome service. Most of my customers/friends call on Dr Elek to vaccinate or tend to their furkids.
As being a mobile vet.. X-rays or operations are a little difficult in a van, but check ups and vaccination.. no worries.

We've tried a number of mobile vet services and can confidently say that Dr Michael offers the best service in every way. He was able to diagnose and treat our pet on the first house call, plus provide us with a realistic prognosis ahead, all at extremely affordable prices. Dr Michael is very experienced, comes prepared, is highly attentive and caring of our pet's needs, and we are immensely reassured that we've found a consistent and quality mobile veterinary service in which we can trust.

Dr Michael helped us put our almost sixteen year old family Maltese x Poodle to a peaceful sleep in the comfort of our own home. He was a calm presence and took the care to explain each step and what we would expect, during our most heartbreaking moments. He let us stay close to our old boy until the very end and take our time to say goodbye. Thank you so much for your compassionate approach.

Excellent service. My senior dogs get so stressed going to the vet, especially waiting in the waiting room. They were both very comfortable with Dr Michael who was thorough and sensible in his treatment program. Very convenient and affordable. Will definitely continue to use Dr Michael to care for my precious little ladies.

I couldn’t ask for a better vet than Dr Michael Elek. His level of care for our 2 dogs is second to none! As our dogs are ageing they’re requiring more frequent visits from Michael and he always manages to fit us in, even on short notice. As one dog is very anxious, having Michael come to house is a lot less stressful for her. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend House Calls for Pets to any animal lover.

We used Dr Elek for a few years up until about 7 years ago then we moved out of the area. He provides a professional & friendly service and would recommend his services to anyone who requires vet assistance. It's a pity we are no longer in his serviced area otherwise we would have stayed with his services..
