Services
Our healthcare team can assist you with education, advice and care to ensure your pet has the happiest and healthiest life possible. We provide a full range of medical facilities for the diagnosis and treatment of dogs and cats. In order to keep informed on current therapies and procedures our veterinarians and nursing team regularly attend relevant seminars and education programs.
Veterinarians recommend desexing for a variety of reasons. Firstly, it prevents unwanted litters of puppies and kittens. In females, the spay procedure removes the reproductive organs and immediately stops hormonal cycles with the associated bleeding in bitches, and risk of pregnancy.
Castration of males can help prevent wandering tendencies which can lead to traffic accidents as well as some territorial behaviours in cats such as urine marking and fighting. The latter can lead to many an unplanned vet visit due to injuries which can in themselves require surgery and extensive treatment to resolve.

We recommend and stock a variety of healthcare products for your pets to protect against creepy crawlies such as fleas, mites, lice and intestinal worms. Please contact us for advice so we can recommend a product that suits your pet, environment and budget. We will tailor make a parasite control program for your individual pet, depending on his/her lifestyle and choosing amongst a number of excellent products now available.
Our x-ray facilities allow us to investigate animal injuries and health problems. Having the equipments on hand means we are able to quickly diagnose injuries particularly in emergency situations. This is convenient for you as your pet can have all treatment done at the hospital and also means our patients are given the best opportunity for recovery.
Vaccinations are very important and protect your pets against infectious and potentially fatal diseases. To maintain this immunity, the kittens and cats must be vaccinated once every 12 months. The vaccines will protect the cats from three infectious diseases - Feline enteritis, Cat Flu and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV).

The owner & senior vet Dr Tania Mullen was very unprofessional to myself & Chloe our dog. Firstly, she misdiagnosed a serious oral issue which was picked up by another vet on the x-rays she took. Further, when we got a second opinion she refused to treat Chloe and kicked her out of the vet practice. She then breached our privacy by discussing our case with another vet practice without our permission
I would stay well clear of this practice as they do not like you getting second opinions and don't seem to have the relevant experience in treating animals with oral disease.

AVOID! The nurses are lovely and so is one of the vets I have visited in the past. However I was not happy with a recent visit with my dog.
Before my concerns and reason for visiting were addressed I was told about the 'best for pet' product by the vet, despite me mentioning I was happy with my vet insurance she said she would provide me a brochure and one was attached to my invoice. The consult was $350 for a consult, some tests and to have his glands expressed. A week later I went to another vet as my dog was still feeling uncomfortable and they told me one of glands were full (the other was

Really caring and helpful service! My normal vet had no appts and Essendon Vet clinic got us in within a few hours. They had really fast service on arrival with safe COVID precautions. I can't thank Aletheia enough. She was so quick to find the source of my kitten's pain and you could just tell how genuinely she she cared about my little Fergie - so thorough in the examination and explained everything clearly. Even when my car battery went flat because I stupidly forgot to turn my car off, she walked 10+mins to her car to get her battery pack and restarted my car - THEY WILL LOOK AFTER YOU HERE

I rang last minute on their first day back for the new year for my Rhodesian Ridgeback and they squeezed me in. They also showed alot of love towards my boy and even offered a glass of water and throat lozenges… as I was having a cough fit whilst in the consultation room 🤦♀️ My Boy even felt calm enough to fall sleep during the consultation lol

I had taken my senior cat Butter since he was 11. I adopted him when he was 11, and as my first non-family pet, I truly wanted to give him the best life. Everyone Butter met, he smooched. He gave a head butt kiss to. Everyone there at Essendon Vet treated him like their own. Everyone greeted him so kindly even if he griped at them (when taking… urine) and even if he clenched (when taking his temperature) he never ran for the hills, ran off the bench, and I felt the love from the nurses and vets there. Yesterday we said goodbye to him and as I write this, I'm heartbroken, I'm devastated,

My doggie was diagnosed with Diabetes :o( Took him to this clinic where they did several repeat blood glucose tests to try and stabilise him. After several of these tests it was discovered by me that they had sold me not 1 but 4 Caninuslin tubes for his vet pen that were OUT OF DATE!!!! He began treatment with them at the beginning of July 2014 and the Caninsulin was dated 05/2014. Needless to say that Oliver was not getting any better and there was a refusal from management to deal with this in an appropriate manner. They hung their head vet out to dry as I'm reporting the incident to the
