Niddrie veterinary clinic provides friendly, professional and affordable health care for your pets. We have reduced access to the clinic to reduce the risk of contamination, please follow the directions on the signs in the car park when you arrive. At Niddrie Vet Clinic, your pet will be welcomed as one of our own and we aim to do everything we can to help both you and them throughout their lives, from puppyhood to geriatric care.

We have now created an instagram also, dont by shy to ask us to take your furry friends pic and we can share it to our page! Please navigate through our website using the tabs above. Check out our staff page to get to know us a bit more! We also have contact details, our services and our recommendations for grooming and puppy pre-school, and our general advice pages.
Services
At Niddrie Vets we have experience with all brachycephalic (short-nosed dogs such as Pugs, Bulldogs) health considerations, including anaesthetics. Ed even has one at home! Breathing- Due to the shape of their head these guys often have a restricted airflow which can restrict their ability to enjoy life and can be dangerous in hot weather.
Because pets age so rapidly major health changes can occur in a short amount of time. The risk of cancer, diabetes, obesity, arthritis, heart disease and other serious conditions all increase with age. A lot of diseases can be subtle at the beginning, which is why a trained eye is best- your pet may appear healthy to you but we often identify small problems before they become too big.
Whilst all the vets at Niddrie Vet Clinic are happy to see behaviour cases, Anne has a special interest in this field and loves to chat about these problems. Behavioural problems can be due to behavioural causes, medical causes, or both.

We will investigate behavioural problems by obtaining a full history and conducting a full examination (sometimes your pet may require blood or urine tests to rule out underlying medical conditions) to accurately diagnose a problem.Behavioural problems are often the combined effect of many factors, including your pet's environment and learning.
Responsible pet care requires kittens to be given their initial course of vaccinations, but this cannot protect them for the rest of their lives. Adult cats require regular vaccination to maintain immunity against disease. Our kitten schedule is first vaccination at 8 weeks and a second vaccine at 12 weeks.
Responsible pet care requires puppies to be given their initial course of vaccinations, but this cannot protect them for the rest of their lives. Adult dogs require regular vaccination to maintain immunity against disease. Our puppy schedule is vaccination at 6-8 weeks then a follow-up vaccination at 10-12 weeks.

I have been taking my two whippets here for a few years now and I can't recommend them enough. I've received help from Sharon and Ed and they are both the most helpful and caring vets I've ever come across. In fact everyone that works here is very friendly and helpful. Thank you all, my dogs and I are very grateful for you :)

Have struggled to find a vet that I trust, and I have found them. Reasonably priced, with honest and caring staff. A real credit to their industry.

I have been going to this Vet for well over a decade with all my pets and they are amazing. All the vets are brilliant, Sharon and Ed I couldn't speak highly enough about. I couldn't recommend anyone better to give you advice or to help your pet. They care about their clients and their fur babies. Thank you for all you do.

Sharon was absolutely fantastic. It was our first visit there with our kitten and she was patient, thorough and the most important thing you'd want in a vet- Genuinely interested in her job and our animal. They also take concession cards and she may be the very reason we switch vet's! Flawless experience 10/10 🍪 🐾❤

Have been taking our GSD Max to do some routine checks & some minor issues. Dr Sharon is very professional and thorough. Quite detailed and answers all questions. Most importantly she is very good with our pet and this makes it easier for Max to be less anxious when we need to visit the Vet. The nurses are also very kind and if possible, come out to socialise with the pet, making it a positive experience for the pet. Highly recommended.

Best vet in the area. There's a level of care and individuality that you don't get at most places. Always take great care of my Arlo.

We've been coming to this vet now for close to 12 years for our fur baby Neo, seeing mostly Edwin and sometimes Phil, both excellent vets who care deeply for animals, the staff there are so helpful, caring and genuine too!
