When Tendler Dental was first established over 30 years ago, the goal was to offer the local community a dentist in Melbourne that was affordable, accessible, highly qualified and have a range of services to patients of all ages. Today, while the look and feel of Tendler Dental has changed, the goal remains the same.
Brushing and flossing regularly removes trapped food before it decays. If plaque containing bacteria is not removed the bacteria can break down food particles trapped in the teeth or mouth. The combination of the bacteria and decaying food in your mouth can produces an unpleasant odour. Bad breath also can be a problem if you wear dentures and don't clean them every night.
A tooth can break, split or crack due to chewing hard foods, grinding or clenching your teeth, or as a result of wear and tear on existing tooth restorations. A cracked tooth can be very painful. The tooth may still be intact, but flex every time you chew or bite causing pain. You should visit our dentists right away if you've cracked or broken a tooth.
Dehydration is the major cause of dry mouth, although some medical conditions and treatments can contribute. Diabetes can reduce your saliva flow, therefore resulting in dry mouth. Anxiety, stress, mouth breathing, some antihistamines, radiotherapy, snoring and just getting older are all factors that can contribute to dry mouth syndrome.
Gum disease also called gingivitis, is an inflammation of the gums. It's usually the result of plaque building up on your teeth due to poor brushing and flossing habits. Plaque builds up on the tooth gum margin and the accumulation of bacteria in the plaque aggravate the soft delicate tissue of the gums.

VERY Big thanks to Dr Sam Lawrence and staff for being open around Xmas break when all other dentist were closed.Was a first time I attended this clinic, but due to significant tooth pain, had a appointment in hours of booking. Service was great and nearly 24 hours later, treatment is already working!!! Woohoo can now enjoy NYE not in pain!!! thank you. Rob.

When contacting Tendler Dental after my son broke a part of his tooth, I was able to get an appointment that day. My son was nervous as he had never had a tooth removed before and was worried about the pain. Dr Sam Lawrence was great in comforting him and explaining what he would do. I can highly recommend the Tendler Dental team for their promptness, care and professionalism.

Just had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr Cynthia Ma and would strongly recommend her services. I found that she was professional, gentle and caring.
