MPC is a dedicated community kindergarten full of natural leafy spaces, timber play structures and great ideas. At Mitchelton our highly qualified and experienced staff provide a wonderful play based learning environment. We work in partnership with our families to ensure individual differences and connections are supported.
We offer 2 and 3 day kindy programs for 4 year olds and a unique 2 day program for 3 year olds. Children are in the same class group with the same teaching team every day. To provide flexibility for families our Before and After Kindy Care is available across all our programs from 7.30am - 5.30pm. Don't you just love this!

For 75 years The Gowrie's focus has been QLD children and families, and the benefits quality early childhood programs bring to our community. The Gowrie philosophy and commitment to community spirit is strongly aligned with Mitchelton Pre-Schooling Centre and we are proud to be one of their Community Kindergartens.
Our view of children underpins our philosophy, and impacts upon our curriculum decision making. Each child is valued as an individual with differing interests, abilities, strengths and needs. The curriculum is supported by current early childhood research which reinforces the importance of a sense of belonging.
All MPC teaching staff hold specialist early childhood qualifications. MPC benefits greatly from the staff's depth of experience and professional expertise in early childhood education. They are committed and dedicated to the children and families who are part of our centre each year and strive to enact the philosophy in their daily practice.
The Centre operates during school terms. Children enjoy the stability of the same group of children and staff members each day, interacting with the children for a full day every day. Mitchelton Pre-Schooling Centre offers places to our target group, children 3.5 years to 4.5 years (the year prior to children attend Prep in a school-based environment).
