South Pine Community Kindergarten and Preschool provides a warm and friendly atmosphere where children can learn and develop their potential, and parents/guardians feel welcome to join in, make friends and learn with their children. We are a community kindergarten, which means we are not-for-profit, and community-controlled.
At South Pine Community Kindergarten, we want both children and families to know that they belong, and they make a valuable contribution to the community. We respect every child's right to have a childhood, and we encourage learning through play. We also understand that all children are capable and competent learners, and active participants in building knowledge collaboratively.
Our Kindy is open 5 days a week from 8.45am to 2.45pm during school terms. Please feel free to drop by and have a look at our Kindergarten environment and meet our wonderful and dedicated Teachers. There is a $20 non-refundable booking fee required to lodge your form and place your child's name on our waiting list.
Our Centre's Philosophy is based on The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF) that describes a vision of children's learning characterised by Belonging, Being and Becoming. While the EYLF focuses on children from birth to five years, the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG) aims to specifically enrich children's learning in the Kindergarten Year.
Parents or carers are considered the child's first teacher and are highly respected and valued in our kindergarten. They are encouraged to participate in the program as much as they would like to - some parents talk about their talents or hobbies with the children, while others just spend time observing what their children do and learn during the day.

Both of my children have been to South Pine Community Kindergarten and loved it there. The both still talk about Kindy and all the fun activities they had done over the year. All the teachers are fantastic and I myself have fond memories of them being in Kindy. If you are thinking of a Kindy in the area I highly recommend South Pine 😊

My son attended for two years. The staff were amazing. They were so friendly and approachable, I felt comfortable asking them anything. They really made a huge effort to get to know my son, and also my other son who loved playing at drop off. I loved that my son had the same teachers and students in his class each day, that he didn’t have to keep adjusting to different class structures. I loved that it was play based learning, in a safe friendly environment. Would recommend it to anyone searching for a Kindy.
