We are only a few minutes' drive from the CBD and River Precinct, and are situated directly opposite a local bus stop which can take you to the Caneland Shopping Centre.

Bloody best please to stay in mackay the rooms are so clean and being so close to the road it's so quiet. Jackie is awesome and so helpful and the cleaning staff are so good at there job the rooms are spotless so clean. If you want somewhere to stay that's central and close to everything eg post offices, iga supermarket, bottle shops, doctors, pizza hut, subway, servos, and lots more all in walking distance you can't go wrong here BEST SPOT IN TOWN. And being a truck driver that gets around the country side a Fair bit this little spot has been hard to beat.

Loved staying here, Manager is a wonderful lady who assisted us on any needs we had, housekeeping crew are great and friendly. Room was clean, comfortable bed, great shower. I will definately be back again.

After making the last minute decision of staying overnight to attend the annual Regional 'Special Children's Christmas Party' in Mackay, the Lantern Motel and staff were very engaging and considerate to meet our family's needs on such short notice! The room was great with all amenities listed in great working order. Credit to the owner's who have tried to keep an ol' fashion touch by impeccably maintaining the room's bathroom and fixtures. This is pronounced when faced with the rattan style 1 person extended bathroom basin vanity, with matching large mirror (helps greatly when more than 1 person

It was very old fashioned, it took me to an era i wasnt born in so that was interesting, ive also never seen double glazing windows , my partner has being from London, so again for me that was interesting

We were in the unit closest to the main road and was glad to find double glazing on the window. Noise wasn't a problem and the unit had everything we needed. The bed was good. Parking was bit of a lottery, but not too much of an issue

Stayed for 3 nights and loved it, it is right by the main highway so i guess down the other end of the motel would get a biy noisy from traffic, clean rooms and comfy bed wit all i needed in the room, and friendly staff, i would definately book again.

Stayed in the Lantern Motor Inn at Mackay at the end of July ! Really Clean,Tidy,Great Price,Hot Showers,Clean Sheets,& The Place was as quiet as a Country Town at 10pm at night,Not a sole around,😴Only… sleeping beauties,& lights out! The lady that served that night was so helpful and welcoming too!👍 Totally recommend this gem in Mackay 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
