Aslan Coffee
Roasting since 2011 in St Peters, ASLAN Coffee Roasters (ASLAN is Turkish for Lion) was born out of the fascination to explore the diverse, complex & bold flavours of coffee beans originated from the various regions of the Indonesian Archipelago.

Partnering closely with our producer, not only we have been able to source some of the best coffee Indonesia has to offer consistently, but also we are able to witness a high level of transparency throughout the supply chain from our regular visits to the farms & facilities. Our daily mission is simple, #BrewAStory, story of hope, love & joy as your local.
Services
In 1699 when Indonesia was still under Dutch colony, VOC (Verininging Oogst-Indies Company) brought in Arabica coffee plants to break the worldwide Arab monopoly in coffee trade. The Dutch Colonial Government initially planted coffee around Batavia (today Jakarta). More coffee plantations were established in East Java, Central Java, West Java and parts of Sumatera and Sulawesi.
After many years of frustration in trying to source a good consistent quality of coffee beans from Indonesia, we are so excited when we cross paths with people from Wahana Estate, a local company who are as passionate for Indonesian coffee and the people related to it. We're more than ever now motivated to not only translate the coffee from farmers to your cup, but also to continue searching for other producers who share the same passion.
We're determined to be able to translate the hard work of our coffee farmers all the way until the first and the last sip, over and over again. Roasting in small batches & rigorous tasting of the finished products are our daily bread. As an operator of a cafe, we understand the challenges that the business owner and the barista faces.

My son and I just stopped off for a takeaway coffee and hot chocolate.
Very friendly service. We really enjoyed our drinks, the coffee was beautiful. It's a shame we live so far away, otherwise we'd be back again soon!

My coffee tasted like burnt milk. Did not taste caffeine at all.
Service was standard. No smile no greetings whatsoever. I could tell why people went there as no other place in the area serving coffee

One of the best tasting coffees in the area!
It's in a great spot right on the park, perfect for getting outside and taking a break.
Coffee and food are all great prices too.
I've not yet tried their food though, so can't comment on that.
I also always enjoy seeing the art on the wall whenever I come by 👌

We’ve come here a few times and it is a lovely cafe with quality coffee and great food. They do the simple things very well. Great to get takeaway and eat in the park.

Love the friendly staff at Aslan. Food and coffee is always amazing. Great selection of pastry and cakes and specials.
We’ve been coming to Aslan coffee shop for over 5years now. Never had a bad coffee or meal.
We’ve also got Aslan coffee beans at home we love it here so much.
Keep up the great work guys; especially through these tough times of COVID; you’re always so chipper.

Cute little local, friendly service and interesting asian fusion options. Reasonably priced. The rendang was nicely presented, the beef a tad too fatty for my liking; but will return to try the pastries & coffee.

Avogato, coffee and the food were excellent. We are regulars at the circular quay cafe so we had to visit the original in St Peters.
