Sunnybank Obesity Centre is one of Australia's most established Weight Loss Surgery Clinics with over 25 years experience in helping Australians achieve their weight loss goals. A Gastric Balloon is a temporary surgical procedure involving a soft, expandable gastric balloon being inserted into the stomach to help create a feeling of early and prolonged fullness after meals.
This procedure is Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery which involves a Gastric Band being placed around the upper stomach which restricts the capacity of the stomach, therefore reducing the amount of food that can be eaten at one time. The Gastric Sleeve procedure involves reducing the size of the stomach to a short tube shape which limits the stomachs capacity and in turn reduces the amount of food which can be consumed, leading to weight loss.

Professor Memon is rude and impersonal. His staff, especially Jess, are just as rude. There is no care factor. He yells at his patients and the whole office is unhelpful. Sue, the previous office manager, was the only decent person to deal with.
Every visit has been unpleasant and filled with anxiety.

My partner has been in severe pain and discomfort since the procedure and the procedure itself was in her words ‘the most traumatic experience’ she’s ever had. Running late for ‘prayer time’ the seemingly rushed procedure was felt every step of the way even though more anaesthetic was requested. More than 2 weeks later the stitches have burst open and we have had to have them redressed by a ‘professional’. No guidance after the procedure, no instruction on how to function and no advice after leads us to believe that this level of neglect is a clear indication of Professor Memon’s
