Sparrows in the Treetop was established over 60 years ago and has since earned a reputation for being Melbourne's leading specialist pet boarding service for both short and long term stays. Our dog boarding kennel and cattery is situated in beautifully maintained grounds just outside of Melbourne, where we offer complete care for your pets that is based on a deep understanding and concern for their overall comfort, relaxation and welfare.
We offer a convenient collection/delivery service in our modern air conditioned transport, to the areas listed below on a Monday, Wednesday & Friday (unless these are a public holiday) usually between 6:00am - 9:00am to fit in with work commitments. We do not offer this service on weekends or public holidays.
Puppies & Dogs: $33* for small dogs and up to $44 for larger dogs - per night, per pet (NB: A small number of breeds attract a higher rate of $55). Top brand pet food, with the option to use your own specific brand of dog food, we can personalise the style of feeding requirements. 2 outdoor play times in our large grassed & shaded lawn area and in the "off season" extra outdoor play time.
Our dog went to Sparrows on a regular basis when I was a kid. I remember how much he loved going there, & as happy as he was to see us pick him up, he would have been quite happy to stay there longer! This was over 30 years ago, so they must still be as wonderful now as they were then, a business doesn't survive & flourish that long without being good at what they do.

After using a number of kennels over the past two years, I was reluctant to send Joey (medium Cavoodle) to another kennel. However, the service provided by Gary and the team was exceptional from start to finish. Joey had an air conditioned kennel and smelt amazing when I picked him up. We have already booked him in again for Easter and Christmas, and we will be using the pick up and drop off option this time. I highly recommend Sparrows.

Mav our German Shepherd has had multiple stays with Sparrows in the Treetop. Friendly staff who all go out of their way to make sure all families and animals are cared for. Mav is always so excited for his special holidays there and always returns smelling amazing!!

My dog was at this kennel for the Christmas and new year break - 8 nights in total.
She came back smelling of urine and her paws were all yellow (she’s a white dog)
The owner told me that they had bathed her. But that is impossible. She smelled so bad I had to scrub her fur to get rid of the urine smell 3 times!! Which begs me to wonder what the conditions are in this kennel.
Never sending her back to this place again.

I booked an inspection and the staff member on at the time told me to look into a window which looked into the kennels. I couldn’t see a thing. A young dog was trying to escape from behind a gate that had temporary fencing. Was further distressed to hear that during peak periods dogs do not leave the kennels during the day due to the large number of dogs that stay. I cancelled my booking for this Christmas/New Year and found an alternative.

Very disappointed! Left my dog here for 2 nights and he came back with a bad bruise. The team did not confirm how he got the bruise and guessed it could've been at night. Their website claims to have 24x7 vet on site/ on call and yet they did not think to put an ointment on. On drop-off and on the website they reassured me that he would get some play time with other dogs but at pick up they told me they do not generally mix his breed with others. I am certain his breed remained the same during drop off and pick up so i could have been told this earlier. My dog came back terribly lethargic even

Highly recommend!!! Second time my 2 labs have stayed. I had previously had a bad experience at another kennel which left me quite concerned having my dogs stay in a kennel but Gary and the other staff reassured me and I knew my dogs were in good hands! Once I picked up my dogs they were of course excited to see me and to come home but I could instantly tell they had a good time thank you sparrows for looking after my fur babies

I am so pleased with my experience. My chihuahua Carletto, has anxiety, he is very easily stressed. I was so worried about him being away from me, but i am so pleased with how he arrived home. It was a great service! Carletto was freshly washed, and it was like he was never away from me. I cannot recommend this place enough - I will definitely use this service again.

Amazing place to take your doggo for a vacation! They were very warming and welcoming of my big Alaskan malamute, who stayed with them for almost a month when I went on holiday. They’re attentive of dietary requirements and take the dogs on a nice amount of walks, giving them plenty of exercise. Also the rooms are temperature controlled, which is awesome if you have a long hair breed that doesn’t deal well with heat, or a small dog that doesn’t stand much cold. Lovely spot with lots of fresh air and spots to play in. Unfortunately we moved from Melbourne, but should we come back we’ll definitely
