Wow. Good food and venue but have to be the most expensive drinks in Brisbane. $12 a Corona. Only stayed for one then we went somewhere with more reasonable prices

Catering package was pretty grim the steaks were mass cooked and left sitting on a serving tray to go cold before they came out. They were so overcooked it was like eating cold rubber. Povo.

My employees and i had booked this for our Christmas function and had been looking forward to it all year long.
The staff were not friendly or welcoming and made us all feel like we were an inconvenience to them. We were told to ask help carry out our food and were told multiple times to “cook your own food if you want more”.
The green was free for an hour after our food was brought out, and we were told that we weren’t allowed to continue bowling for a little while longer because it was outside of our booking time.
The drinks package was terrible as we didn’t receive it about half way

The only reason my experience at the boo was enjoyable was the people that I came with to enjoy our work function.
The staff where aggressive and took every chance to make us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. The drinks where far to overpriced and the food was undercooked. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone.

To summarise my experience at the Boo I would simply say this, unfriendly and un inviting staff that offered 0 flexibility. The constant feeling that myself and my friends were simply an inconvenience at the venue, highlighted by being told by a staff member that if we wanted more food that we “Can go cook it ourselves”. Unprofessional in the highest possible way and I would not recommend this place to my friends or family simply looking for an enjoyable stress free day of bowling.

We organised an event for our work function and payed a reasonable amount of money per person. When we arrived nothing was set up, our bowls time was quite limited (many other patrons) and the food was to an average standard. Prior to the event, we ordered a meal each, I ordered a steak with chips and salad. When it was time for the food to arrive, the venue placed a tray full of steaks (all well done), a tray full of chicken and a tray full of fish on a seperate serving table. The salads were placed in a bowl and a tray full of chips with some tongs and cutlery were placed down. We had to serve

Very unhelpful staff in relation to bookings. Were willing to pay for the whole food package including lawn bowls as there are no other package options for a large group in November and December, but weren't willing to be accommodating on letting us start early and skip the BBQ (even though we were still willing to pay for the whole package). Management told us we should look at other bowls clubs as they not willing to make any changes....You've just lost a willing paying customer for life.

Came here for a work function. Pretty happy with the food. There were 3 choices for protein - steak, chicken Maryland and fish.
I opted for the chicken and was surprised how juicy and tender it was. The chips were perfectly golden fried too 👍🏻

What a great day at the Boo yesterday. The staff and management were attentive to all our requirements. This was our 3rd year in a row for our family get together and we will be back next year.

Venue is lovely and food was excellent. However beverages are very overpriced. A jug of beer, mid strength is $24 while pints are $9. The bar tender went on to tell us that jugs are better value as they hold 3… pints 😳😳😳Someone needs to educate this poor fella that a jug only hold 2 and a bit pints and therefore having pints will save you $6 for every two. Perhaps some training in drink sizing is in order. It was a shame as the venue and food are very good.

I recently had my 30th birthday at The Boo. Heidi and the staff were fantastic to deal with and made the whole process very easy. The staff on the day were friendly and very helpful, including going out of… their way to look after a couple of my guests with disabilities. The food was excellent and the burgers in particular were a big hit with my guests. I recommend The Boo to anyone looking for a relaxing, fun function venue.

My night when I celebrated my 70 birthday was made that extra special by the commitment that the staff and management undertook to make it the success it was. Avery special thanks to the blonde beauty with the… lovely blue eyes(sorry darling, have forgotten your name). Your boss must be very proud of you, you are a great asset to the Boo. My family and I had the pleasure of enjoying Father's Day at the Booroodabin Bowls Club, this place is affectionately known as The Boo.
This Lawn Bowls club was established back in 1888 & has honor boards that show many champion bowlers from the past.
This family friendly place is well known for its Barefoot Bowls & booking in advance is advisable due to the popularity of this social activity. Many thousands of people on a yearly basis enjoy a social outing here at The Boo.
The staff at The Boo go the extra mile to ensure everything is provided to enjoy a game of Barefoot Bowls.

Great place to hang out and play bowls, a true local icon. I really enjoyed myself.

Very relaxed place to bowl as they let people on the lawns with shoes (which I found a bit offputting). The instructions to bowl were poor because afterwards, our group didn't know where to place the white ball or that we had to step on the mat or how to bowl. Many of the people threw the ball from a high distance - which would have been disallowed in a lot of clubs. Nobody at the club seemed to care so oh well! The food was mediocre. My burger was filled with BBQ sauce which I don't like so I think they should have let us put our own sauce on like with the chips.
