Our Speech Pathologist provides individual assessment and treatment for children who may have difficulties with language development, speech sound development, stuttering and literacy (reading, writing and spelling). Parents have the flexibility to see our Speech Pathologist at the clinic or we can provide a special mobile service for our Speech Pathologist to visit your child in the home, kindergarten, childcare centre or school at an additional cost.

Melissa has worked exclusively with children in a range of settings, including private practices and school-based services. She has experience providing individual and group therapy to preschool and school aged children. Melissa has completed training in BLADES, Assessing & Teaching Social Skills and Sound Reasoning.
Speech Pathology involves the assessment, diagnosis, management and treatment of communication disorders, including difficulties in the areas of speech, using and understanding language, social skills, literacy, fluency and voice. This refers to language production and includes the ability to construct sentences and tell stories.
What is a Speech Pathologist? A Speech Pathologist has been trained to assess, diagnose and treat disorders in a range of areas such as articulation (speech), language, fluency, voice and swallowing. Do I need a referral? No, you do not need a referral from your GP to access our services. You will need a referral from your GP if you are planning to claim a rebate through Medicare (see below).
