Comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments are aimed at understanding the strengths, weakness and difficulties of the child to plan treatment priorities. The assessment is structured and includes use of various formal and informal methods to obtain a baseline evaluation of the child.
This session also gives opportunity for the parents to share their concerns and understand how Occupational Therapy program would help their child achieve his maximum potential.The assessment time varies from 90 minutes to 120 minutes depending on the concerns. A formal report of assessment is provided to the parents.

Can I claim the cost through Medicare? Children, who have multiple problems, can claim up to 5 visits through the Enhanced Primary Care or Medicare Plus Programme. This requires GP referral. Fees can also be claimed through a private health fund, if you are covered by the 'extras' cover. You will have to pay the out of pocket cost after the rebate.

We started our son's Occupational therapy more than a year ago in Oct. 2019. That time we were not aware of sensory issues and Autism. Maushomi has been very helpful and she excels in her field. Our son had many sensory issues with wet sand, wet textures, sticky things and list goes on. She and her team worked so hard with him that in a year most of his sensory issues he has overcome and is developing so well. I didn't really know what 'Autism' meant when first I took my Son to Sydney Pediatric OT for an assessment in Aug 2018. He had many problems like poor eye contact, inattentiveness, had a lot of difficulties with fine and gross motor activities, minimal purposeful speech and very less engagement in meaningful talk or play. We were literally distraught, but Dr. Moushami gave us a very clear picture of how to go forward and from then on, we're getting weekly therapies with her and her associates especially, Mrs. Sumitha. We have been coming here since beginning of this year and very happy with the excellent therapy and support my son receives from Moushami. Moushami is highly experienced and My son has made continuous improvement with his mortar skills. Moushami is super knowledgeable about how the human body works as a whole which helps with the therapy she does with my son.

My son had an easy start with the therapists. He connected straight away with Dr. Moushami and the team. I’m so glad he enjoys himself and likes the different tasks given to him each time and over the course of six months, we’ve seen a great improvement on him in terms of eye contact, social interaction and following instructions. We are consulting Dr.Moushami for our son from last one year.Our son is 5years old and is diagnosed with ADHD. The strategies used by Dr.Moushami are very good and we have seen lot of improvements in our son..Earlier he was not able to sit in one place and do the activities but now he is able to sit for longer period and complete the activities.He is able to listen to instructions and follow them.His writing skills have improved a lot.
She is a very good Occupational therapist and would really recommend her.
