Gay Wightman School Of Ballet
Now more than ever it's important for your child to have normalcy and routine. The last thing we want is for our children to play video games and watch television and movies all day. Established in 1960, Gay Wightman's School of Ballet quickly became recognised as one of Melbourne's most successful ballet studios.

Many of our students participate in elite programs and go on to professional careers in the dance world, however we welcome students of all ages and abilities. Our classes are suitable for children who wish to pursue dance seriously and those who want to enjoy a fun, healthy hobby with their friends.

We chose the school as it came highly recommended but I have to say that the school failed to meet my expectations.
The school is run poorly with huge classes. Unless your child is doing the exams or is part of the invitation only class, there is rarely an opportunity to seek and receive feedback about your child's progress as the two principal teachers literally run from one class into the other.
There is lack of respect and culture of exclusion. Unless you are a "part of the club" in that you bring the school profits because your child does exams, attends multiple classes per week, goes on

Strong technical focus. Challenges our girls to strive for excellence. Fantastic learning ethic and offer students to learn how to support and teach younger students. Classes available online so great during Covid19 lockdown. Our girls do 6 classes each per week and love it. Our highest recommendation.

Exceptional people, school and environment both for the skill and the broader character of the students.
