Julia knew what she wanted to do from an early age. Her mother claims 'Vicki the Vet' from 'A Country Practice' was the inspiration for her chosen career. Julia has always had pets of her own, from dogs and cats to horses, and currently she has two cats. She spent much of her time with her dogs and at pony club and always loved being around animals.
Lara Pet Hospital and Veterinary Centre provides complete, high quality veterinary care for the pets of Lara, Little River and surrounds. Lara Pet Hospital is proud to be the only full time, hospital standard facility available in Lara. The friendly team at Lara Pet Hospital genuinely care about the experience you and your pet have when you walk in the door.
Dogs and cats age on average, five to eight times faster than humans. By age two, most pets have already reached adulthood. At age four, many are entering middle age. By age seven, many cats and dogs, particularly larger breed dogs, are entering their senior years. Because pets age so rapidly, major health changes can occur in a short amount of time.
Vaccination has revolutionised control of infectious disease in our pets. It is essential that all pets are adequately vaccinated to help protect the pet population as a whole. Responsible pet care requires kittens to be given their initial course of vaccinations, but this cannot protect them for the rest of their lives.
Fleas can be distressing for your pet, however they are more than just a nuisance. Fleas can cause skin disease and transmit infectious or parasitic diseases, some of which can be transmitted to humans too. In some dogs, fleas can also trigger an allergic condition called flea allergy dermatitis (FAD), a skin disease that is intensely itchy and can result in hair loss and skin infections.

Dr. Sollenberger, during an emergency visit on Christmas Eve, found a mass on Sophie's spleen. He offered to do surgery on the day after Christmas at 10am. He and Taylor removed an 8 pound tumor and - according to our vet, saved her life. Petplex was also 1/3 the cost of another area emergency clinic.
Sophie is acting like a puppy now.

This clinic did a major surgery on my chihuahua a few years ago when I first adopted her, and they are amazing. The staff is so sweet, and they let me visit my dog several times while she was in their care. I plan to bring my dog back soon, and would recommend this clinic- they have a passion for animals and people who care for them.

We cannot thank the absolutely wonderful and caring staff at Petplex for their care of our special kitty Chunky. When we were not able to be seen at our vet for 2 months we feel so blessed and fortunate to have found the amazing staff at Petplex. Even though our Chunky could not overcome his illness
We were treated with such caring and thoughtful personnel. We feel so blessed to have found such a wonderful place for our other 2 kittys. Thank you from the bottom of my heart❤

Dr Mary Edge was brilliant in removing my 15 year old cat's eye which was malignant. She reviewed all of the options with me and was very caring. I am beyond grateful for her expertise and highly recommend her and the staff at PetPlex!!! Thank you Mary and staff!!! Bailey is doing great and it is because of your excellent care!!!

Thank you for helping my doggy.
When my dog was bleeding badly and needed help. The other vets offices turned us away. Petplex didn't. Without the surgery she wouldn't have been okay. The staff took amazing care of me and Eclipse. And we still have our doggy thanks to them.

Do not, please, do not take your animals here. On 3 occasions they almost killed 2 of our animals we’ve owned. We forgave them and chalked it up to human error which happens, but unfortunately they did a surgery on one of our dogs when the testing came back she was not a candidate. Never did they tell us even after we called to check on her and ultimately it killed our dog. No one should use this place. Ever. Please go somewhere else. If I could give you all zero stars I would. I hope I save one animal from your hands of death.

Our experience with PetPlex was nothing short of amazing. Our 13 year old dog quickly declined in health overnight. We called our normal veterinarian and she was unavailable. We called and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Costalansky. Our visit was a very emotional one and she was very caring and compassionate. She and her team (I believe Amanda) not only took excellent care of our dog but us as well.
I cannot thank them enough for not only getting us an appointment same day but their caring nature given the circumstances.

On a few occasions when I had emergencies they were too busy and couldn’t get my dogs in. I forgave them once when they told me they couldn’t do a cesarean on my female (who was struggling) until Monday, I was calling on a Friday. Labor doesn’t wait till they can schedule them in. We’ve paid a lot of money in labs, no one calls with results, we have always had to call them to get results. Then there were a few other issues, I go go on for awhile, but then I called about my puppy. The girl answering the phone says, is this an emergency or can you hold?”. I said it’s an emergency. She

Took my dog in Friday evening just to ease my mind because he was having some eye trouble. I called first, and the first thing out of their mouths were “it’s $140.00 just to walk in the door for an emergency visit”. All about they money. First thing the vet we saw does is jump to “it’s because he’s been beaten” Not even knowing what was going on yet. Had just walked in the door and accused us of beating our dog. Little did she know, or care to ask, we took him in because our dogs play rough and our other dog scratched his eye. She muzzled him after saying that. I left not happy. Anyone
