Corio Veterinary Clinic was established in 1978. We are a modern well-equipped hospital, with a caring and experienced team of veterinarians and nurses who are committed to providing the best care for your pets. We are able to offer a wide range of services including consultations, desexing & microchipping, elective and emergency surgery and home visits.

Our surgical and medical equipment is kept well up to date to enhance quick and effective treatment of your pets. With good advice and professional care, we strive to give your pet the best ongoing health care. Our Lara Veterinary Clinic was opened in 1983 to cater for the ever expanding population of Lara and the surrounding districts.
Services
Pets, on average, age five to eight times faster than humans. By age two, most pets have already reached adulthood. At age four, many are entering middle age. By age seven, many dogs, particularly larger breeds, are entering their senior years. Because pets age so rapidly, major health changes can occur in a short amount of time.
Vaccination has revolutionised control of infectious disease in our pets. It is essential that all pets are adequately vaccinated to help protect the pet population as a whole. Responsible pet care requires kittens to be given their initial course of vaccinations, but this cannot protect them for the rest of their lives.
There are two broad categories of worms that may affect our pet dogs and cats, intestinal worms and heartworms. Please see our heartworm page for more information. Worming is one of the first health care issues pet owners need to address as pups and kittens are the most susceptible. As their name suggests, intestinal worms are parasites that live inside your pet's intestines.
There are two broad categories of worms that may affect our pet dogs and cats, heartworm and intestinal worms. Please see our intestinal worm page for more information. Heartworm, or Dirofilaria immitis, is a parasite that is spread by mosquitoes, so you pet does not even need to be in contact with other pets to become infected!
Fleas are most often seen during the warmer months but as we keep our homes nice and warm throughout winter, we see fleas all year round. Only a small part of the adult flea population actually lives on your pet. The fleas' eggs and larvae live in the environment and can survive for up to a year, so it is important to not only treat your animal directly for fleas but also decontaminate the environment as well.

Our dog was left alone in a consulting room (covid) for an hour because they forgot about her and got distracted by a kitten.

The staff are wonderful and treated our cat very well. The vet we had was very thorough and gave a lot of detail on the treatment plan etc. Would keep using this clinic in the future.

I was advised by the principal vetinary doctor that my cat didn't have a urinary infection (dispite showing EVERY symptom) and that she infact was anxious depressed and should be re-homed so she may stop suffering. My cat has always been referred to 'the friendly cat' greeting all our visitors, wagging her tail, making friends with neighbourhood cats. My family and friends since remark when they see her 'look at her, she's happy' 'she is so friendly'. We've had a vetinary Dr in Qld, WA and Melb Vic all of which said she was a big healthy chubby cat so I was wondering if I called to speak with their
