South Valley Veterinary Clinic
At South Valley Veterinary Clinic, our goal is simple: To provide your pet with the best health and well-being possible during its whole lifetime. To do this we have a great team: skilled, committed and passionate about caring for your pet. We also have invested in the latest technology and equipment that will help us keep your pet well or diagnose and treat any illnesses.

We also believe that coming to the vet should be a fear free experience for your pet. Our clinic is modern, purpose built and fully air-conditioned. This provides a welcoming and comfortable experience for your pet but the real difference is how we treat your pet when you get here. Both you and your pet will get a warm welcome from our friendly reception staff.
Services
We strive to provide your pet with a high standard of veterinary care, so that they live longer and healthier lives. Jenny graduated from the University of Melbourne, with Honours, in 1982. She started work as a small animal veterinarian in Melbourne but moved back after a few years to her hometown Geelong, where she has practiced as a small animal veterinarian ever since.
To offer the best of care in these services our veterinarians and nurses continue to update the knowledge and skills with training and study. Our facilities include separate cat and dog wards as well as a secure yard for exercise and toileting so that we can offer your pet the best comfort away from home.
On arriving home you should keep your pet warm and comfortable by providing a soft clean bed, ideally in a quiet and draught free room at approximately 20-22°C. Unless otherwise instructed, your pet should be offered a drink of fresh water. After a few hours a small amount of food may be given, such as white fish or boiled or BBQ chicken.
Your dog has been castrated which involved surgery in a very sensitive area and therefore needs care for some time after the event. Unfortunately dogs do not always understand that they must rest so we need you to assist us with his recovery. When you pick your dog up from our hospital he may be a little drowsy.
Feeding a treat or praising every time he/she touches the surgery leg to the ground the first few times you do this can speed up leg use. If he/she will not put the foot down at all, do your slow leash walks in rough grass or soft sand or over a few sticks on the ground.

Assisted standing while supporting your dog under the belly with a towel or a hand gently push his/her weight onto the surgery leg and pick up the good leg so he/she stands for a few minutes on his surgery leg.As your dog's strength and mobility improves take him/her for longer slow walks and include walking up and down slopes.

Lovely staff who are patient and knowledgeable. They communicate very clearly and treated my dog as if he was their own which made us both feel comfortable and at ease.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability
Terrible job of stitching up my dog after lump removal, skin protruding from rear into a point that will be an issue.
charged for an item after surgery that was neither supplied or refunded, will not use again for my dogs benefit.

Wished I went to this vet much earlier. The team there are wonderful beings starting from the girls at the reception. My special thanks goes to vet Brooke Scanlan. She's done a wonderful job with my old dog. Can see Brooke loves her job and cares for her patients. They are a very community-minded and even give you a discount if you're a pensioner. Thanks for that.
Thank you to all at South Valley vet. Owner and dog have never been happier.
Thanks once again and keep up your friendly spirit
