This quote from Michael Leunig summarises the painful reality for many of us from time to time. It is at such times that a professionally trained clinician is the right choice to talk matters through. Glen Eira Counselling has an accredited and experienced team of clinicians who are specialists in their area of practice and who can assist you to effectively deal with life's challenges.
Are you unable to make decisions or get excited about family, work and activities that you once enjoyed or think you ought to enjoy?. Living with depression can be a heavy, lonely and isolating time for yourself and for those you care about. The symptoms of depression can also present physically and in behavior changes such as negative eating and poor sleeping patterns, which can all make you feel worse.
Anxiety and its insecurities comes in so many different forms, often due to the busy pace of life in Melbourne. The pressures of success, careers, dating, relationships and children are just some of the common stressors we experience. Anxiety disorders can affect all aspects of a person's life which feels debilitating and isolating.
Men, women and children respond differently to grief but the most important thing to remember is that most reactions are normal. On the other hand there are times when loved ones can find these responses so overwhelming, painful and difficult to cope with to the extent that he/she cannot function in their day to day life (such as commit to work, withdrawing from social situations and relationships).
Workplace pressures keep growing as we create lives that are successful and comfortable for our loved ones. However relationship expectations, time and resources to commit to other aspects of our lives are not reducing. The forces of demand and need for stability create enormous stress on our capacity to cope.

I have had a myriad of experiences with Psychologists during a fairly eventful life and I have to say I have very high expectations from my professionals. I have been with Glen Eira Counselling for perhaps more than 7 years because I find my therapist to be extremely professional, knowledgeable, cognizant with latest theories and techniques and most importantly, able to see me as a person and not just a client or a case.
Dr Rocha has been an indispensable weapon in my mental health arsenal, and has supported and enabled me to grow through the changing stages of my life.
