Yoga is a science that has been practiced for thousands of years. It consists of ancient spiritual philosophy, observations and principles about the body, mind and spirit connection, some of which is now being proven by modern medicine. The Hatha Yoga classes offer a breath-focussed, vinyasa (movement), physical approach that helps connect the student with their body, at the same time creating a quiet mind.
Whatever class you choose, our teachers offer you personal one-on-one attention. You will benefit from classes that cover the spectrum from strong dynamic sequences to relaxation and restorative yoga. Classes usually have no more than 8 to 10 students so that your individual needs and social distancing guidelines can be met.
At Simply Yoga you can experience the many psycho-physical layers of yoga in a supportive environment. Whether you are working on flexibility, core strength, energy levels or stress reduction, you will find your Simply Yoga Teachers can help you reach your potential. Our studio is intimate, light and airy.
Over 35 years of practice and nearly 23 years of teaching, John has attended the Iyengar Institute in Pune, India and advanced classes with Pixie Lillas with whom he trained. Assisting Pixie in her Remedial classes, John began to develop a unique and empathetic approach to his teaching, especially toward the stressed and inflexible.
Simply Yoga welcomes students of all abilities and ages. We have courses and classes for everyone - whatever your age, experience or fitness level. We offer traditional Hatha and Vinyasa classes, as well as Iyengar workshops and intensives with John Norris. Simply Yoga is one of Sydney's longest standing and most reputable yoga schools.

I have been an Iyengar student at Simply Yoga for more than 10 years. My needs have changed over the years and John has helped me respond to those needs so that I expect to keep going for many years to come.
Not only is John a meticulous practitioner, his approach puts his class completely at ease. He is kind and encouraging and helps his students strive to reach their full potential, without placing uncomfortable pressure on anyone. He subtly incorporates mind/body awareness in his methodology and takes the mystique out of yoga, making a practical tool for pschyo-physical balance. There are people

Those amateur stretching and a few moves were not just enough for me to get rid of those baby fats and yeah, of course sleepless nights. I was getting unhealthy and I was not able to find any other way, but joining Simply Yoga, the one nearest to my residence. Simply Yoga, though I already had heard off a lot about them, but never thought, I would too end up joining them. Destiny, you know! The unhealthy condition of my health got me into this paradise. Yes, this is what it looks like. It’s beautiful, spacious and of course full of friends and yoga experts. I find each of their attempts is unique

I have been practicing yoga at Simply Yoga for 4 years and love it there. My teacher is John. His teaching is very precise and careful, but simple to follow, and he was great in allowing me to develop at my own pace, with just the right amount of support and challenge to help me with what I found difficult. I also really enjoy the breathing exercises we do some times. I had terrible posture and the yoga has taught me how to practice standing up right through the day. I am also stronger and fitter and more balanced, not just physically but emotionally.

I have been practising Yoga for 8 years, 4 of those years have been at Simpy Yoga. I left for a while after I joined the Gym as I thought I would attend the Yoga classes there - what a disaster after attending Simpy Yoga; it was very impersonal and compared to the very experienced, professional & caring teachers at Simpy Yoga, I felt very uncomfortable with the superficiality of the teachers & the impersonal nature of the classes.
Simply Yoga has a great atmosphere & the teachers have a genuine interest in increasing the benefit of Yoga practice for the students.

Great instruction, and a fairly gentle progressive practice that's great for newcomers to yoga. Classes progress in groups getting gradually more advanced week to week. The studio is in a converted office and comfortable but not atmospheric.

If you're looking for a yoga studio with a crew of experienced, caring and committed teachers, who take you on a personalised yoga journey, then Simply Yoga is for you! I like it that at Simply Yoga you can learn the postures, and also what yoga is all about in an environment that really can take care of your individual needs. The groups are small and they have a holistic approach that builds your practice incrementally, but can also be challenging. Would not hesitate to recommend.

I have been attending Iyengar classes at Simply Yoga for the past two years. Although I had been practising yoga for many years I had not learned Iyengar style, so I attended the Beginners 1 & 2 courses and now attend the open classes. I have learned so much about refining my practice. The instruction is clear, and the teachers pay much attention to detail. Being middle-aged I tend to carry a few aches and pains. The teachers are very helpful in modifying practices for individual needs, and encourage us to challenge ourselves without overdoing things. I think Iyengar Yoga is one of the stronger
