Most of us will be exposed to distressing or difficult events in our lifetime. However, in some cases, these traumatising experiences can have a last effect on our mental wellbeing and day-to-day life. Welcoming a new baby to your family can be an exciting and blissful time for mothers and fathers alike.

However, in the weeks or months following a birth, one in seven women and some men. Depression is associated with a feelings of intense and persistent sadness; yet depression and sadness are not the same thing. Feelings of sadness follow loss and are a normal part of life. The perinatal period is a time of enormous transition in the life of every family.
Services
After working for many years in public mental health systems, the principal psychologists at the Centre for Clinical Psychology decided to establish a service with a focus upon evidence-based therapy. They wanted to develop a service which provides comprehensive assessment and skillful treatment with a focus upon goal setting and measurable outcomes.
The Centre for Clinical Psychology delivers clinical psychology services to young people and adults, via a combination of Telehealth and in-person sessions. Our service has a focus upon evidence-based treatment for mental health conditions, including but not limited to post-traumatic stress disorder and perinatal mental health issues.

The perinatal period is a time of enormous transition in the life of every family. Throughout pregnancy and after the birth of a new baby, it's estimated that one in six mothers and one in ten fathers will experience perinatal depression. Here at The Centre for Clinical Psychology, we aim to enhance the wellbeing of parents and their infants through our dedicated Perinatal counselling.
Anxiety is a serious and distressing condition. It can interfere with work, relationships and even just managing the tasks of daily life. Anxiety is also the most prevalent mental health condition in Australia, with 1 in 3 women, and 1 in 5 men experiencing anxiety at some time in their lifetime (1, 2).

I rang up for the first time today and was trying to make an appointment. The receptionist was warm, patient and lovely. He provided the info I needed and when I said I need more time to think, he was supportive and nice.
