Despite how common mental health problems are (1 in 5 Australians are affected by them), it can be a difficult decision to seek-out mental health treatment. It's often difficult to make the time to see a psychologist and people are often unsure about what actually happens during therapy. Sometimes seeking help can seem harder than just putting-up with what's wrong.
Usually, after the first session, people have a better idea about what's involved in therapy and whether they feel comfortable with their clinical psychologist. Clarity offers centrally located comfortable rooms (located in Carlton), and after-hours sessions are available. We can also offer flexible counselling schedules to suit your availability, including options for fortnightly or monthly therapy sessions when appropriate.

All our clinicians are highly experienced and have been trained to the highest Australian standard (clinical psychologists). They have experience providing evidence-based treatment that is tailored to your individual treatment needs. We do not use a one-size-fits-all approach to psychological therapy.
People's experiences with their psychologist are not usually something they discuss and compare with their friends. As a result, it's easy to feel a degree of hesitation or confusion regarding therapy. For many of us, film and TV depictions are all we have on which to base our expectations about psychologist services.
Under Federal and State regulations, the highest technical and professional levels of therapeutic assessment and clinical treatment are restricted to accredited Clinical Psychologists. Clinical psychologists have specialist training in the assessment and diagnosis of major mental illnesses and psychological problems.
