I have been seeing Dr Steven Chau as a person identifying as LGBTQIA+ and have rarely felt so comfortable and supported by a Practitioner. When I saw Dr. Chau I was treated with compassion, kindness, and respect. After getting my ADHD diagonosis he could have easily thrown some scripts my way and sent me off - instead he continues to assit me and help me with my studies in his capacity as a psychiatrist and consults me on how I would like to proceed with various treatment options. I feel completely comfortable with this practitioner and would recommend him to any people looking for a supportive

Not sure what's up with the previous rating but it does Dr Chau no justice.
He's been a really straight up doctor, really experienced with the way he explains things and makes difficult concepts easy to understand.
I feel really fortunate to have been referred to Dr Chau, and he's been aiding me in my journey for the past 6 months now. Thanks for everything so far doc, wouldn't be this much better without you.

I had not met with any mental health professional in any serious terms until this year; being already well into my adulthood I was a bit bewildered, especially after having one Psychiatrist turn me down and refer me to Dr Chau's clinic, as Dr Chau happens to be an expert in the field of my GP's original concerns. Moving ahead, I can say that I am more than relieved and very grateful to have been referred to Dr Chau by luck (more or less).
I believe I can sum up my opinion quickly by saying, he's the kind of Physician that reminds you as to why people take up the career to begin with, simply to

If anyone is searching for a psychiatrist in Melbourne who treats adult ADHD I'd highly recommend Dr. Steven Chau.
I saw him for the first time today and was very impressed. I was a bit nervous to see a new dr about ADHD since education on this condition is so variable (a GP I'd known for 5 minutes once told me that 'we all have a bit of an imagination' when I said I had been diagnosed with ADHD, & was doubtful and condescending from the moment I told him).
Anyway, Dr. Steven Chau was so open and friendly & made it very clear that I didn't have to share anything that I wasn't comfortable sharing

This dr is just about ripping vulnerable people off. The contract that is signed between the Doctor and patients is so ridiculously in favour of the Doctor that it leaves patients who are in need of some flexibility due to the nature of their illnesses out if pocket even if they call and cancel appointment 24 hrs in advance. This in my opinion shows how much care the dr puts toward their paitents. Shame on you Dr S. Chau
