The biggest put off at a restaurant can be to be served food with DIRTY cutlery on the side which speaks a lot about the mediocre hygiene standards of the restaurant and probably the kitchen. For reference I have attached a photo of the dosai that I ordered which was served with dirty spoons. Also, to note is the next to inexistent customer service at the restaurant which is so poor and irresponsive. Everyone from their staff is just sitting inside the kitchen ignorant of the diners and no ones around to help with additional orders and you might find yourself walking up to their desk every time

The food was good in parts. They've come up with a few interesting twists on some humdrum items eg using green apple to make a quick pickle instead of raw mango was a nice touch. One thing which left an impression was the speed of service, we got our orders lightning fast! However was not sure whether it was a good thing or bad thing. Other customers ( caucasians) seemed to be getting their dishes much slower and one at a time while we got all our stuff (entree, mains and beverages) in one go. The portion size relative to most other Indian restaurants is below average

Looking for some good Indian food and customer service? You're not going to find that here!
Ordered takeaway and headed home to find out the naan was completely burnt and inedible.
Returned to the restaurant after eating the mediocre, tiny sized portion of tikka masala and chicken tikka to request a refund for the inedible naan.
My partner explained that the naan was burnt and requested a refund to the front of house to whom then said "no refunds". We did not travel back just to give feedback when clearly requesting a refund on the naan that was clearly not edible (strong burnt smell from the

Dum biryani and plain dosa were really nice and was worth the price. Strong hopper topped with crab was a disappointment for $25. Stringhoppers weren’t fresh, there wasn’t enough crab and any flavours to blow your mind. Desserts were nice specially watalappan, wasn’t too sweet but kulfi tasted a lot like condensed milk.

This restaurant is located in Crows nest and has a relatively decent ambiance in terms of capturing "South India". Have been here several times now. The food has been consistently good and have mainly had the Meen Mocchai Kozhambu with steamed rice. Have tried a couple of Entree's like Kundapur Lasooni Squid but found the serving size a bit disappointing. Overall a good place to go too, but feel its a bit overpriced.
