Muum maam was established in 2010 at Surry Hills and Muum Maam Barangaroo in 2016 as part of Sydney's biggest food hub near the iconic harbour, at Barangaroo south. Right in the centre of Sydney's thriving culinary scene, we focus on using fresh ingredients & seasonal produce with traditional flavours and contemporary techniques.
We continue the same concept as our original sister restaurant, Muum Maam Surry Hills (closed permanently), with quick thai street food during the day, and casual dining in evening. Inspired by his mother's home cooking, chef Santo love affair with food started when he was a young boy. The family's backyard was allotted to grow fresh vegetables and herbs, since then the idea of always using fresh produce has been deeply planted in his mind.

The view and reviews are better than the food.
If you know your Thai food, it’s better to stick with your favourite Thai restaurant.
I’ve been to the countless Thai restaurants in Australasia, and ate all the spectacular food in Thailand. Muum Maam wasn’t up there with the best.
The food was salty, flavours unbalanced, cooking was sloppy, and missed the T-factor. We love our Thai food and none of us enjoyed our food on the table.
Muum Maam has the premium location so, hope they lift up the standard.
For these reasons, I give this place 2 bears.

The Massaman beef curry is heaven. It’s hard to share because it’s so good. 10/10 with rice. The crispy pork belly is another dish you must order for the table. Attentive service. Can be a bit of a raucous strip where you’re fighting to be heard across the table, but if all the tables are still full when the kitchen closes then you know you’re going to be in for a good time.

We had the banquet for 2 people at $59/head and it was awesome value for money. The portion sizes were very filling and the flavours of all the dishes were absolutely delicious. A big callout to the coconut milk ice cream it was so addictive and refreshing to end a great meal. The vibes at Barangaroo is also really coming along, it was packed with people having a good time on a Thursday night.
