Sugarcane Restaurant

We had a really tasty evening at this romantic restaurant on our first night in Coogee. We picked the surprise me menu and loved every stage of it.
Delicious cocktails and fabulous service in a time where the hospitality industry is under so much stress.

Absolutely stunning food. Of particular note was the crispy chicken and pork hock. The chilli margarita was also a nice way to start the experience!! Thanks to the professional and friendly staff.

This is South Asian infused restaurant so the menu is unique. Limited range though and not alot of variety. Portions are small-medium size.
Don't expect to feel super full when sharing with friends.
Pricey items but very tasty food. Every ingredient was fresh. I enjoyed the experience.
I probably wouldn't return here if I had a choice. Its more of a social place with nice view, good food and quite posh.
The male Asian host was a bit awkward in the end. Pretty much indirectly kicking us off the table coz it's a busy night.

The food was excellent, the staff very accommodating, and the cocktails spicy if you want them that way. A nice view of Coogee even on a rainy day.

My partner and I opted for the unknown set menu aka the 'trust me menu'. Our server was lovely and charismatic. We trusted our server and we were served with a mouthwatering meal. Flavourful, hearty, and most of all delicious. So delicious. My partner and I walked by this restaurant many times since coming to Coogee and never thought to go in but we did, and are so glad we gave it a chance.
Seriously, give this place a chance and you will not be disappointed. My mouth is watering even thinking about our previous meal and my partner and I plan to return for another gorgeous meal where were full

I was there for a Christmas dinner banquet, Unconventional Asian food, loved the creativity , the fresh taste, the explosion of flavours in your mouth. I would love to visit again with my family.

Highly recommend the Aromatic Baba Curry. Easily one of the best Pad Thai we've had in recent memory and the Lamb Neck Bun was very tasty also. Combine that with a very nice ambience and friendly staff made this one of our most enjoyable dinner experiences to date.

I haven’t had the pleasure of dining in Sugarcane Restaurant yet due to the Sydney lockdown, however I ordered takeaway and was pleasantly surprised. I wanted to try a bit of everything and ordered way too many dishes, but it was a great way to see what we liked the most. The fried rice and pomelo salad were my two favourite dishes. They were lovely and fresh. The dishes are quite expensive though.

Sugarcane occupies a great spot in Coogee overlooking the beach where during the day you can see bustling locals and tourists passing by or be immersed in the lively nightlife that descends after dark.
My dining partner and I were only able to get a late 9pm sitting as it is a very popular spot. We arrived a few minutes early and were greeted by very friendly staff who showed us immediately to our table. Even at this late hour the dining room was buzzing with activity and I was surprised to see it was quite full with patrons. This means it’s a louder environment and some may find it a little
