We enjoyed the whole experience (Groupon voucher)and front-of-house Sabin really looked after us. The curries we selected (British Fish curry and a Lamb Bhuna) were super flavoursome and completely different. The fresh naan breads out of the tandoor oven were great, the entree platter was spicy. Ambience very pleasant. Altogether a great deal and we highly recommend the experience.

If you're looking for an Indian restaurant in Sydney you really can't go past the authentic and delicious flavours this crew has to offer. We eat here all the time and the food is the best Indian we've tried in Sydney. We love supporting local businesses and we have found The Colonial to offer and excellent range of menu options and an easy ordering system online. Highly recommend giving this one a try! 5 stars for service too!!

Immerse your taste-buds with flavours of long-forgotten cuisines inspired by undivided India’s north-west frontier province and the British colonial rule.
A period that gave rise to British Indian gastronomy; best defined as a rustic and robust fusion of eastern spices into western cuisine.

We bought a coupon via the restaurant website. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and the staff are very friendly. We ordered butter chicken, malai kofta and beef vindaloo. All curries were good but not great. Serving sizes are quite small which I presume is to cover the discount. Drinks and extras are quite pricey.

We got delivery, so apologies for the globby photos.
It was great that they had a vegan menu which is something there should be more of. That's probably where the compliments end.
To put it bluntly it tasted like food made for vegan white people. It was bland, no real burst of any spices, tofu was just sliced and plonked in.
I've made better meals with a jar of Pataks.
They just stopped caring. Maybe they stopped caring by 30% or whatever uber was charging them but they just did.
Oh and the papadams were just so small.

I visited this place on my own, it was just across the road from my hotel so it was extremely convenient for an evening meal. The staff were very nice and professional, the service was quick with minimal waiting for drinks and food.
The quality of food that they serve is top notch, I enjoyed every bite. They make their own naan bread to order and cooked in the traditional way, I honestly don't think I've ever had naan that tasted as good as this one
