Recently we received an email from a gentleman located overseas and looking to buy in Brisbane. He had emailed a well-known local real estate agent requesting help to find a new home. Not a true reflection of agents on their performance. All of them have a high positive rating due to the fact vendors & purchasers can only leave positive feedback. Also, other clients or potential clients, are not given the opportunity to rate agents & leave their feedback regarding their experiences. This site is useless due to the fact it does not provide wholistic but a bias approach in reviewing agents under the pretence of their own interpretation of "verified transactions" meaning they block negative reviews.

Brilliant marketing tool for the industry. The whole RMA philosophy is to get agents to spam happy customers right after a sale while the iron is HOT and encourage them to write a happy glowing review. Just ignore unhappy customers and don’t invite them to write a review. How can you lose! The result is, your agency always gets glowing reviews! Wow. If a bad review happens to sneak through they can always delete it after a while to keep he agent’s average up, or not publish it at all. RMA also offers agents value added marketing analytics tools for their valued customers (the real estate industry

First of all you will not be able to write the review on your own, it has to be prompted by a real estate agent and the agent will do so only if the transaction is hassle free and if he thinks it is going to be in his favour.
If you are lucky and get the opportunity to write your review, it has to be positive only, otherwise these RateMyAgent people will reject your review, stating it does not fulfill their policies or by giving some other senseless reason.
When you ask for the copy of their policy

I feel it's a reasonably fair platform to ascertain the general ability of an agent. It's true that all vendors and buyers won't necessarily leave a review and the agent can screen out bad reviews by simply not requesting one. I think it's probably still the best site out there to get a good idea of the various agents who will be competing for your business.
