A pub without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture, is like a tree without roots. The story began many years ago when Queenscliff's Palace Hotel was opened at 2 Gellibrand Street in 1879. The Hotel was the first two-storey masonry hotel in Queenscliff, and it featured an accompanying timber observation tower as demonstrated in the original photograph.
Our ethos here at the Brewhouse is to celebrate the art of beer making, and we aim to do this by showcasing craft beer from around Australia and beyond. But we also brew our own Queenscliff craft beer in our on-site microbrewery, and Prickly Moses Handcrafted Beer at our brewery in the Otways. Our bar and cellar door allow people to sample our beers and talk to our knowledgeable staff about all things beer related.

Went for dinner on a Friday night however unfortunately they were short staffed so told us to order straight away as kitchen was closing at 8pm. Tried to get a tasting paddle and was sent to another bar to then be told they can’t do them as this bar was closed - then asked for info on what beers they had/ could recommend but got nothing from the staff. Asked for a drinks list but they didn’t have one! Then when the appetizers arrived the oysters were so tiny, and the Parma and calamari were also very average. Overall quite disappointing it was an average experience.

I stopped by Queenscliff Brewhouse just for a quick beer pickup as I had to drive back to Melbourne shortly after. I found the staff really friendly and helpful and the bar is very cozy, I wish I could have stayed there for couple hours. They have a great beer and whisky selection, and their local brews are cool - I took a Swede & Sour and an English Ale to enjoy at Melb.

Been here twice now. First time for dinner in the pub space as the tasting room and whisky bar was closed. Great selection of beers on tap and a very helpful bar tender! Everything we ordered was all well cooked & flavoursome...only wish i had room for dessert!
Second time we got to try the tasting room. Tasting paddle/flights are good value @ $10 to try 5 of their beers and wines. (Must try the Austin & co Chardonnay & the Grassy Point Shiraz!). Lady behind the bar was helpful with my choices. Also got a meet and cheese platter which which was good value!
Drawbacks are counter service which
