Batesford Hotel

Staff member was very nice but the worst Parmi I have had for years. A Parmi that thick can not have flavour through it.

I would have given 5 stars, the staff were sooo great and up for a laugh. But the food (it was great) but they don't really offer the usual pub meals. But was a great place and absolutely gorgeous inside.

I was there for 3hrs could not go to the toilet as the smell was making me vomit. The kitchen should be shut as the smell was through the kitchen. My husband was on the house toilet most of the night ?????

Lovely setting right by the river and the dwelling is nice too. The food is pretty average pub grub and the beers on tap are bland.

Love this place, has great food and the service is excellent. The pub itself has a great atmosphere indoors and an excellent beer garden next to the moorabool river.
Its a must visit.

What a beautiful hotel. Open fire, cosy atmosphere, friendly staff and a wonderful meal! Compliments to the chef…Can’t complain…we will be recommending this place to all our friends. Very impressed!

So, myself and my partner got married in the Moorabool room and gardens in January 2021 at the Batesford hotel.
Originally it wasn't our first choice of venue but after a Covid disaster with our first venue we gave them another look.
And we are so glad we did, since our original inspection back in 2019 the business had changed owners, and the venue was now the complete package. Beautiful scenery, excellent space, as well as a kind, caring, accommodating and all-round amazing co-ordinator in Ange. Honestly have to say if it wasn't for her, our wedding would not have been the same.

My husband and I dined here last night and I was very very impressed. Beautiful interior, service and food were exceptional! I would highly recommend.

The food was amazing. The service was great. only one negative and that it was a little too dark to read the menu. But all in all we had a great night with wonderful food.

With a snap lockdown happening very soon, frantically bringing a wedding ceremony forward to this afternoon it was amazing to be able to call up the Batesford Hotel to be able to accomodate 30+ guests for dinner after the ceremony. The service was incredible and I thank you for having us at such short notice!

Out to celebrate my late mother’s birthday with family, we had a wonderful evening! Friendly service with a smile, wait staff and bar staff were great! The food was absolutely beautiful💕, and well worth the prices!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this venue!! So pretty out the back and a great place to bring kids and dogs.
HOWEVER, a lot needs to improve... And I don't mean to be narky or rude but need to be honest.
The prices right… now are high which is fine, BUT the service NEEDS TO MATCH and it doesn't!
We have visited 4 times now in 5 weeks. Every time we have had one of the following issues: - No cutlery being provided. - No drinks arriving for a looong time until reminding staff. - Waiting at the bar for service for 5-10minutes with no acknowledgement or apology. I looked at the lunch menu online and was a bit worried (limited) - but the menu they had instore was great!! Being gluten free, the menu had plenty of options, reasonable prices and generous serves too. Left feeling very full! Also, went with pooches and sat outside - lovely spot - and they had a water bowl ready! Will definitely go back!

As soon as you walk into the hotel you feel welcomed, we were seated near the fire place which gave the restaurant a warmth and comfort. The staff were amazing and the food was delicious. Don't forget to venture outside and go to look at the river and old bluestone bridge.

One of the friendliest places I’ve stopped at for dinner, from the welcome when we arrived to the farewell as we left, definitely a place I’ll be back to.
The meals were awesome and well priced for the quality and quantity, the Pork Belly is a winner.
With a huge function room and garden out the back, it’s a great location for that special day with views over the nearby river.
