Renowned as one of Eastern Suburbs most iconic establishments, The Royal Oak Hotel's convenient location, multi-level venue, friendly staff and loyal to local approach is what makes us Double Bay's favourite local for 149 years. Famous for Phil's Rooftop, along with an extensive menu with a delicious selection including vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options.

The Oak has food options to satisfy the most discerning diner. The Oak is the Eastern Suburb's most popular destination no matter what day of the week, with a dedicated sports bar showing all major domestic and international sports, full TAB facilities and no shortage of entertainment, with our resident DJ's lined up over the weekends.
Services
We love our sport (as much as you do), especially live and loud, and there is no better place in the Eastern Suburbs to support your team. Located on the ground level of the venue, with its own private entrance off Cooper Street is our newly renovated Sports Bar.

We are proud (and unapologetic) supporters of our Sydney Sporting teams, locally and professionally, especially our Roosters, Sydney Swans, Waratahs and Sydney FC, and have a good sprinkle of passion for the sport of kings, Horse Racing, thrown in for good measure! We don't discriminate between our sport so we also have all of the action from the NFL, NBA, Cricket, Tennis, UFC and more!
We've got something for everyone at The Oak. Come down and enjoy some old fashioned Oak hospitality. Purchase any VB or Peroni throughout Game 1 or Game 2 to go into the running to win 2 x tickets to Game 3! The Badge Draw is back! Join us every Friday night for your chance to win the weekly Royal Oak Badge Draw! Starting at $500 and going up $50 every week, end the week on the right foot by taking home the win!

The security and staff were disgustingly rude and disrespectful. Was a very disappointed night and the staff let people bully others and get away with. Do not recommended ever coming here

I came here for dinner and had the parmi. I was sick 15 minutes later in the pub toilets. I asked to speak to the manager and advised him. He took my number and did not offer me a refund of my meal nor has called me since. I am very dissappinted by the service and this is a risk to other peoples health.

Fantastic place for a family lunch during the school holidays. Staff were so friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Menu has lots of options, both healthy & not-so-healthy, and the wines by the glasses menu had lots of options. Decor is classic, upmarket pub-style and in immaculate condition. Rarely give 5 star ratings but couldn't fault this place.

This was a nice pub that was tucked away inside Double Bay proper.
It wasn't that noisy (compared to the golden sheath). Dining area had a bit more noise due to less carpet and more people.
We sat in the sports bar area and had a great time catching up over a few beers and a nice dinner. Worth coming here if this is your neighbourhood.

Good Friday lunch, before heading off to Woollahra Oval to watch Easts drill Uni. Place was busy, floor manager was fabulous - sorry, I didn’t ask her name. Food and drink was great. But, the star of the day was Charlotte - couldn’t be more helpful or professional, all with a bubbly smile. Great ambassador, Jamie & Ed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ok atmosphere but the food and beer is beyond expensive! I know it's Double Bay but you're still only a pub that serves standard beer and standard food, you don't warrant charging this much! Either get some decent drinks on the menu or improve the food and service before charging so much.

Great food, not too pricey and relaxed atmosphere. Great place for families with kids with a great kids menu and ice cream- something a lot of pubs have ditched since covid. The outdoor space is great and easy to sit streetside if you are worried about noisy kids or just love seeing the local dogs out for a stroll.

Great venue to dine. Food is fantastic. Well balanced menu. All day breakfast is to kill for. Recommend their 300 gms rump steak served with chips and salads. Very friendly staff in all areas. No problems with parking. Council carpack is at the rear of the hotel. Have been dining twice a week for the past 14 months.
