Services
To be able to inspire children and teens, we need to first speak their language. Children respond to energy, enthusiasm and playfulness, which is why before we get to anything else, classes need to be fun and full of movement!. Being a karate kid is like being a superhero. Karate Kids have a responsibility to be great role models, to help others and to strive to do their best in all situations.
Pre-Teen applies to students aged11-14 years old. Throughout this time, our teens are shaping their identities, forming habits and deciding what sort of people they want to become. Our Pre-Teen Empowered program has a unique ability to inspire confidence, positive self-esteem and leadership in our students.
Leadership is an action, and like all actions, we get better at them with practice and focus. Leadership Academy is the place for that practice. Our Leadership team meet up each week to discuss a range of topics and ideas. These sessions are a combination of practical learning and discussion, requiring students to interact, share their experiences and offer ideas.
The Ultimate Martial Arts Teen and Adult self-defence system incorporates a comprehensive graded curriculum designed to increase your fitness while providing you with the skills to protect yourself and those you care about.

This system merges the best traditional and modern-day techniques and philosophies from multiple styles including BJJ, Aikido, Judo, Wrestling, Goju Ryu Karate, Boxing, Kickboxing and grappling- all within a fun, safe and supportive environment.

I started at UMA in 2004 and loved the positive influence it had on all aspects of my life. Now 14 years later my son at age 4 has started his martial arts journey. The instructors are amazing and the classes are great for both my son and I. I definately recommend UMA.

We've been at UMA for 2 years and the kids love it! They have made great friends, had lots of fun and learnt so many different skills. The instructors are amazing and not only teach them martial arts, but also about being respectful and resilient often using "real world" examples. Highly recommend.

I've trained at UMA Heathmont for three years and can honestly say it's one of the best martial arts school you can be part of.
The standard is very high and every single instructor is amazing. They have the best children's program also.
Do yourself a favour and try their Ultimateburn30 cardio circuits, a great way to tone up.
UMA has helped create confidence within myself to step out into the real world knowing to avoid dangerous situations and to be ready to defend myself and my family.
A HUGE thank you and thumbs up to everyone at UMA.

Martial Arts is more than about fitness. Ultimate Martial Arts provides the whole family with skills that can change your life.
For my kids it has taught them that dedication, persistence and never giving up can help you to achieve things your never thought was possible. Fantastic instructors that are passionate about seeing you achieve your goals. Awesome place and family atmosphere.

Bushidokan at UMA has been our family sport for over two years now and it's been great fun for all of us. There is a big focus on self improvement which rounds out the experience. The confidence and inner strength you can gain will help you in other areas of your life. The trainers are committed to you and have walked the same path as you to get to where they are. Training is hard work and requires commitment but that's why you should go.

I've trained at 4 different martial arts gyms now and UMA is by far and large the best in the area. The gym possesses more than just mats and trainers: It is a place of family and community, growth and development. Doesn't matter what you do there, your life will be better for it.
The gym has a wide range of programs to engage in. I personally am signed up for 4 programs, because I keep adding more on as I get addicted to the training.
The trainers are all friendly and very knowledgeable (a trait that some gyms lack), and no matter what your style, you are learning from one of the best.

I have been training here for nearly 3 years now. My fitness levels have largely improved as has my confidence. The instructors go out of their way (even in their own time) to help everyone achieve their individual goals. I have a heart condition that sometimes limits my fitness ability, but I have never felt different or been excluded from some activities from the class like I have at some other clubs. I have trained at other clubs over the years and I still highly recommend this club way above the others.
Every time I enter the doors I am greeted by name and asked how my day is. This has happened

UMMA was my dojo for nearly 5 years until I had to move into a different suburb and couldn't make the classes anymore.
Overall it was pretty good and the instructors were nice and experienced. Shihan Vincent, the head instructor is a great motivational speaker and really made stick to the classes and not give up.
The only down to it were the very expensive fees, over $100 a month for basic membership (2 classes a week), which is very expensive if you think about it and compare to other schools. Adding that to all the fight gear I had to buy, it became an expensive venture, but bottom line I enjoyed
