Services
Unsu Kai Karate students are trained and coached by Sensei Stephen Farrell and Shihan Kayne M. Dewhurst. Our team is qualified, energetic, enthusiastic and second to none. We are devoted to helping you get the most out of karate. Sensei Stephen is a dedicated practitioner of karate and has been teaching with Unsu Kai since 2014.
As students progress in karate, they will attempt to move to the next level or "grade". Each grade is represented by different colored belts, starting with white and going through to black belt. Black belt is the sign of an accomplished student. If students train hard they can achieve provisional black belt in 4 to 5 years.
Kayne M. Dewhurst brings traditional karate techniques to a modern setting - with purpose. Sensei Kayne has taught me totrain harder and smarter, and as a result, my techniques are stronger and more effective. Thanks to Unsu Kai Karate, I won four national titles last year. Sensei Kayne teaches an awesome karate class!
Every Sidekicks students receives their own workbook to take home. The workbook helps children monitor their own progress. The sidekicks program has lot of small steps, so that your child often feels a sense of achievement. We find that spacing out our martial art & physical development program with these steps helps to keep your child motivated and enthusiastic.
Students begin as white belts and train and progress at their own pace. Children will feel a sense of achievement when they receive their first minor grade, or 'stripe' after two to three weeks. As time progresses and students improve, they will continue through the grades until they reach black belt and beyond.
